PHILADELPHIA -- The first game of the '96-'97 Season for Jordan and the Chicago Bulls have them visitng Philadelphia, meeting the highly touted rookie by the name of Allen Iverson. It was a nice showcase of these two great scorers, but it was the rest of the team that made all the difference.

It was a good feel out first half for both teams as the game remained close up until the end of the 2nd quarter, where the Bulls would go on 17-2 run in the last 4 mins, as the Bulls snipers - Kerr, Buechler, Kukoc - were hitting their perimeter shots all of the bench to help the bulls take an 11-point lead into the half.

Allen IVerson was outscoring Jordan in the first half, with 22 pts, 17 in the second quarter alone. Jordan had a good 17 pts, but also had 9 assists as his teammates were able to hit their open shots off hid double teams.

THe second half was not much of a contest as the Bulls were clearly the better team overall. THey maintained a double digit lead heading into the 4th quarter and did not look back.

Jordan finished with 32 pts and 11 assts. 3 other Bulls were in double figures (Pippen-19, Harper-12, Kerr-17) as the supporting cast clearly outplayed their Sixers counterpart.

THe rookie ALlen Iverson finished with 30 pts, but only 8 in the 2nd half. He had 0 rebs 1 asst and 2 stls. No one else was in doubel figures for the SIxers.

CHICAGO -- The Bulls host what is arguably the BEST HAWKS TEAM OF ALL TIME - the 1997 Hawks with Dikembe Mutombo, STeve SMith, Mookie Blaylock & CHristian Laettner. This season the Hawks would win a franchise best 56 wins.

It's a battle of two of the best defensive teams in the NBA in 1997. Game was low-scoring as to be expected. It was only in the fourth quarter when one team pulled away, as their superstar guard scored 21 pts in the period to run away with the win.

Michael Jordan dominated these Eastern Conference rivals. He finished with 44 pts 4 rebs 11 assts. Scottie added 17 wiht 8 rebs 3 assts 2 stls 4 blks.

Christian Laettner led the Hawks with 30 pts 9 rebs. Mookie had 12 pts 7 assts. Steve Smith struggled against MJ, shooting 4/18 en route to 8 pts. Mutombo had 11 rebs and 3 blks

THis is the first matchup of the two best Superteams in the history of the NBA. Excited to play this game, as this is the first time this matchup was possible to play in NBA 2K. This was certainly one of the games I was looking forward to play in 2K this year once the JORDAN ERA game mode was created.

It was a back and forth contest until the last few minutes of the 4th quarter when Michael Jordan decided to take over the game in the final 4.5 mins of the game to finish off the Rockets.


Jordan led all scorers with 34 pts with 9 assts 4 stls. Pippen had 22. But it was Toni Kukoc who was the biggest difference. He scored a season-high 26 pts, leading the Bulls bench beat down of the Rockets bench.



Hakeem had 29 pts 14 rebs 4 assts 2 blks. Drexler had 20. Barkley was ineffective thru the game, finishing with 10 pts on 2/11 shooting.

DETROIT -- It is 1997 and Grant Hill was at his PRIME. He gave both Jordan and Pippen problems, and MJ and Pip were up to the challenge.

Grant Hill had a solid all-around game with 23 pts 7 rebs 6 assts 6 stls. Terry Mills added 20 and Joe Dumars had 18.

Jordan had 23 pts 5 rebs 9 assts 1 stl. Pippen 21 pts 7 rebs 5 assts. Kerr had 16 and Kukoc 13 off the bench.

Kevin Garnett led the WOlves with 18 pts 11 assts. Rookie Marbury had 16 pts (6/19 shooting) with 6 assists.

CHICAGO -- It's the 18 yr old rookie sensation KOBE BRYANT's first meeting with the GOAT MICHAEL JORDAN. It was also Shaq's first season with the Lakers. While Kobe came off the bench, the Lakers still fought the CHamps to the last possession!

In the first 3 quarters, the Bulls were comfortably ahead, as they forced the Lakers into poor shooting. Jordan was dynamic against young Kobe, highlighted by a drive past Bryant and a dunk over Shaq as the first half ended. They led by as much as 16. For the Lakers, it was clear it was Van Exel and SHaq's team as they were the most consistent players offensively for their team.

Heading into the final quarter, lead was 10 after a buzzer-beating 3 from Eddie Jones to end the 3rd quarter. WIth JOrdan sitting down to start the 4th quarter, the Lakers took full advantage. THey started the 4th with 17-7 run to tie the game with under 8 mins to go. It was back and forth the rest of the game, with a great endgame. Van Exel made a HUGE 3-pointer with 18 secs left to tieo the game. But JOrdan came to the rescue once again, with a gamewinning driving layup to secure the W.


SHaquille led the Lakers with 28 pts 12 rebs 3 blks. Van Exel had 22. Kobe was next best scorer, with 14 pts off the bench, 5-14 shooting.

Jordan finished with 33 pts 7 assts. Pippen was solid all-around, 31 pts 10 rebs 6 assts 1 stl 1 blk.
