2 Very Annoying Issues...

1. Which slider or sliders do I need to adjust to help with faster players not being able to blow past slow defenders? I so sick and tired of Boban Marjanovic playing 100% EXCELLENT defense on Russell Westbrook when there is a switch. Or Ricky Rubio... Yes... Ricky FREAKING Rubio staying right in front of Kyrie Irving the entire game and anticipating which way I am going. I mean, I understand it's a 50/50 chance (at best) of players playing good on ball defense but pleaaaaase come oooooooon.... I try every combination of moves to try and blow by (which shouldnt be hard for Westbrook to do against freaking Cole Aldrich) and the guy knows where I'm going 100% of the time. I've tried On Ball Defense at 100, 50, 0... This slider to me is broken, no matter what you put it at. Any other sliders I can tweak to make this REALISTIC? Im not saying I want to blow by my defender every single time but damm.

2. How can I get the AI (Team I'm playing against) to make realistic substitutions? Every team starts with their starting 5, mid way thru the qtr they sub 5 for 5 and then at the beginning of the next qtr, the starting 5 again. Teams sub out their stars with 4 minutes left in a close game.

Sorry for the rant. Hope someone can enlighten me. Thanks guys

1. Increase the user speed and acceleration or lower the cpu's whichever suits.

2. Use a custom roster.

Yo I actually just found this out about 2k17. There is something called a rotation timeline that you can edit when players are subbed in and out. You literally map out when each player plays each position for the entire game. To do this, go to the team's rotation and press start, this will bring it up.

You have to be controlling the team in order to change their rotation, so that's why I do a full 30-team controlled association. IDK if you can do it in quick games or not, I've only used the feature in association mode.

I think it's stupid how 2k has set the default rotations to substitute so poorly, like seriously 90% of the time teams substitute their entire starting 5 in for the 4th quarter, it's bonkers. But adding the rotation timeline has really made the game more enjoyable for me.

EDIT: Also for your first question, I edit the lateral quickness and speed/accel/speed with ball attributes for my entire roster to make it more realistic. Guys like Boban, Hibbert, Hawes, etc. have very low lateral quickness like 25-35 and guys like Kawhi, Avery Bradley, Draymond have 95-99. then I make sure fast players (IT, Russell, Bledsoe, etc.) are very fast (95+ speed + accel) and have the high majority of players above about 50 speed (only a select few guys fall below 50 speed like old centers and huge slow guys, ie Boban, Mejri, Kendrick Perkins, etc.). I do this so that way there's no painfully slow players that slow down the flow of the game. The top players aren't very separated in terms of actual speed, but it feels great playing with good results. It's a pain to edit all of the players, but you can mass edit the roster in the menu (association at least), which is fantastic for scaling ratings.
