Rebounding sliders (need help)

Can anyone answer this definitively?

What exactly does raising or lowering the offensive and defensive rebounding sliders affect?

Rebounding effort (more players chase the ball) or rebounding success (one player grabs the ball immediately) ?

Always wondered this and I'm guessing the slider gurus know correct answer. Thanks!!
