What's up ppl, welcome to my SIM 2K23 slider set!

I'm returning this year with a new set for this year's game. Thankfully 2K has made some vital improvements towards the sim experience; shot contests, foul calls/ free throws, and more!


**TO NOTE**
These sliders are for those who eventually dominate the CPU.
These games will be challenging and are meant for you to play honest, and to make smart decisions on the court.
I'm currently still testing, so slider values are expected to change in the near future.

These sliders were built for the MYNBA experience using the 2K and Broadcast cams, with the goal in mind of achieving:

• Realistic stats & percentages, that mirror NBA box scores
• A challenge that keeps you playing honest
• Unpredictability
• And an overall fun experience

Slider Overview & Features:

Last year I jumped right out there with my set when the game launched, due the fact that 2K22 hadn't taken into account the sim experience for the default sliders. But in '23 it looks like they made some strides at launch to improve the game-play towards more realistic outcomes.

Secondly, I tested these on both the 2K and Broadcast cameras. One thing to note about the Broadcast cam is that the cpu defense is less challenging when switching to broadcast. I think it's to compensate for the angles when driving to the basket. I turned up the cpu on ball defense specifically for broadcast.


Here are some positives I've noticed since launch:

-More foul calls and variety: More foul calls on jump shots, more blocking and charging calls.
-More free throws for both the user & cpu: mainly for the cpu is nice to see.
-Free throw slider now works
-Contested shots have become more realistic: This was my biggest fix last year. For this year on default, inside shots & layups can be OP, but depending on your skill or roster level, that could change from game to game.
-Better Physics representation: Collisions are now causing more effects in-game.
-Better shot variety by CPU

Here are some improvements we can make with sliders:

-Speed up pace of players slightly, mainly acceleration
-Ensure FG% are dynamic w/o being to dramatically different
-Better jump shot vs shot contest representation: You should still be able to have a possibility to make a contested shot more often.
-Be able to beat CPU to a spot w/o being super clamped up
-A more offensive game, while still representing true sim stats


Shooting

Making white releases.
- A large complaint is that you hardly ever make "white" releases. Everything has to be a green make in order to go in. In order to achieve this I had to raise the global shooting sliders for both user & cpu, while bringing down the Shot Timing Impact slider. In order for the Shot Timing Impact to work, shooting had to be better. At default, the shooting ratings don't account for much at the white release. Don't be alarmed at the numbers guys, give it a feel and see how it plays out for a full 4 quarters.
- To ensure the user & cpu doesn't make every shot due to raising shooting, I had to make sure the shot defensive strength sliders were at a point where shots could still be contested, while also being able to hit them contested. Its more about a feel than anything else. Your shot timing and shot choices still matter most. I don't make every white release, but its nice to see it go in when I least expect it.

- Still testing as well, I just want to make sure that it isn't OP, or not effective enough.

Fouls

-Fouls look great with these settings. I'm seeing free throws in the high teens (at minimum) and in the 20s consistently for both user & cpu. Sometimes the cpu gets more calls which is awesome to see!

Player Movement

-Once I sped up the player acceleration & speed for both use & cpu, everything felt more fluid and less "stuck in the mud", especially in transition. This helps across all positions including big man. Will still continue to test.

Defense & Physicality

-Defense is definitely in a good place for both user & cpu.

Rebounds/Blocks/Steals

-Rebounds look good. I slightly bumped up the numbers to see more steals, and lowered number of blocks seen per game mainly for the user.

Tendencies

-Currently testing to see the numbers in 3pt attempts for the cpu. So far I'm pleased w/ the shot variety.

I try them I like them but for me I had to change shot timing to 30 for user. I couldn’t make a shot. I was getting blown out by 30. I was nets against pelicans. I was so mad I deleted the franchise.
