i really hope there are not starting to slowly phase out classic teams , i know we got 4 new ones but made up of teams that players are still active in the league or they already had rights to.

I don’t think it is their intention to phase out any of the teams.

They did remove the 07-08 Hornets from what I could tell. That’s because they don’t have the likeness rights to David West, Jannero Pargo, Hilton Armstrong, Mike James, Ryan Bowen, Melvin Ely, Julian Wright, Chris Andersen or Rasual Butler thus leaving only 5 total players they have the likeness rights to officially.

The problem is two things... 2K is not aggressive enough in officially Contacting the needed missing players as when I wrote over 100 former players (some of which did sign on after I let them know who to contact/the general process) only 5% or less had heard anything from 2K. Many of them still have no clue what the process is in order to get into the game.

The other side of it is even as of yesterday I reached out via Twitter & Instagram to over 50 players & only heard back from a total of 8. The said players are just not interested OR have not been asked by enough people to stir interest & make it worth their time.

Lastly, there’s also the issue of for each player who is added & who 2K does not already have a player face for, that means the ART team has to create that player which takes away allocated resources from other areas.

I would personally suggest that each one of you who reads this & is interested in seeing the classic/all-time teams filled out with missing players, that you reach out via Twitter/Instagram & ask if the specific player would want to be included & tag @NBA2K in it.
