2k25 1989-90 season inquiry

I probably should have tested this out first, but I didn't and wanted to avoid frustrations if it's not possible.

I have the 1988-89 roster. To ensure that there is no roster changes at all other than the draft class coming in, is it best to configure the settings to have no trades including CPU trades, no salary cap? I am looking to avoid the offseason options to where it skips all of it. My goal is to get to the 1989-1990 season and play it as the Orlando Magic within the Magic/Bird era.

I have found in my searching there is not a reliable 1988 or 1989 scenario or setup files that meets what I would consider authentic standards (e.g. authentic uniforms, rosters, and coaches). Therefore, my next best thought is to sim the 1987 season into 1989. It's not ideal, but I am just not sure how else to go about it, for what I'm trying to accomplish.

However, if anybody has suggestions or maybe there are such scenarios I am not aware about it, please feel free to share details.

You might want to see if you can contact user joeshmoe concerning a legit 1989 roster (might not be a scenario)--it is mentioned in the comment section of this YouTube video.

I believe if you turn off the offeason things it just automatically simulates them. Don't quote me on it.

That is a really tough season to get to with having to work through 6 seasons. If you have a scenario that you can use for 87 it may be easier to Sim the 2 years and compete all the transactions for those seasons to get the roster for the year you want It's a lot of work but it's the only way you can ensure an authentic experience.

If you're not worried about correct career stats you can just Sim to the 89 season and import each player for the roster you have into the scenario. It's just that when you import a play over someone with career stats it doesn't reset or carry over stats for the new player DNA.
