I don't think I'm good enough to be sacrificing best possible lineup to run a theme team, but if I could, I would use an All-Time Warriors lineup:

One theme that I find it surprising is infrequently discussed is running a 1992 U.S. Olympics "Dream" Team. 10 out of the 12 who were on the actual roster are in the game, most with card versions from the same, or close, years.

Only missing Barkley and Laettner. With the three remaining slots, one could put in Shaquille, whom many thought should have been on the team instead of Laettner. And Isiah Thomas, who was supposedly not wanted on the team by most of the other players. And then either one of the guys that the Selection Committee was reportedly either considering, or many think should have considered. Or maybe one of the college stars who became NBA players who scrimmaged against the Dream Team and who were on the next Olympic team in 1996.

I played a guy that had a spurs theme. Diamond Tim. Amy Tony. Amy Kawhi. But he also utilized guys like lma and diaw and manu nicely. It was fun. I think I ended up winning.

Ugh, so many players not on any Mavs team. Vince/Matrix/Tyson, most notably. I might do a cheesy version of this roster with Diamond Nash, TBT Vince, TBT Matrix, DPOY Tyson on it.

And if you bent the rules in a non-cheesy way, I think it's legitimate to use Current Tyson Chandler, at least. Given that his Current is based on last year's play as a Maverick.

Euro team would be nice but you can use histori as well. Sabonis/Drazen/Vlade/Schrempf/Peja, you name it.

However as another said I will not do it. If I need more challenge I use me second line-up ever 2 or 3 seeds, but when you face a full diamond squad and you have Fournier...

I played a guy today with Bulls team. Jorden/Pippen/Harper/Gilmore/Rodman/Kukoc.

He was a good player and a fun game but I won by 15 points with no sweat.
