Unable to pinch run

Note: I have already filed a bug report.

This is on PS5 in franchise. I was trying to pinch run for Alex Verdugo in the 12th inning. When it asked me to confirm the substitution, I clicked yes. It immediately brought me back to fame action without making the change. I tied valiantly four times before giving up. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes this has been an issue the past couple of years. I keep hoping it will get fixed.

The workaround/solution is to decline the prompt to pinch run and then go do it yourself through the pause/substitution menu.

I’m almost certain I declined and then went back in to the substitution screen.

Next time I see the prompt I'll double check, but this is what I've done in the past.

Does this theory also apply to pinch hitting?

I've never experienced this issue with the pinch hitting prompt

Yup this is bugged. I tried at the prompt and then manually. Neither worked.
