No Postseason Mode this year?

Looks like it’s missing from the menu in the IGN video...

I actually really liked this mode for head to head battles when buddies were over.

Edit: I just remembered it’s not on the main menu in 18, but under mini modes maybe? Sorry it’s been awhile since I fired up the game. Hopefully it’s still in.

Re: No Postseason Mode this year?

Usually I would call someone out for being stupid for saying something has been removed because it's not in the main menu when it's been in the extra options area with stuff like batting practice.

But since they removed season mode last year I can't fault anyone anymore.

Re: No Postseason Mode this year?

Although it's not confirmed yet, this unfortunately looks to be proving my theory more and more correct...

I won't say anymore on these boards after this, but I'm so disappointed in these decisions lately I feel obligated to point out what I've noticed.

So, if you guys were to cook a frog, would you throw it head first into a pot of boiling water, or place it in gently and turn the heat up over time?

My point is, we are being corralled into the pay-to-play modes more and more each year. I'll explain.

First it was Season mode, then Online Franchise, and now it's looking like Postseason mode may be out while Franchise is potentially sitting idle again.

Okay, so what you say. We have Moments and Sprint to October. Well what are their big selling points? You earn rewards, right? That's their gimmick. You grind to earn the rewards. And what do you use those rewards in? Diamond Dynasty and RTTS.

So by removing these modes or ignoring others, they give you rewards almost as a temptation to try these money maker modes. They may not get you this year, or even next, but by slowly bringing the modes together in an intertwined sort of way, they are hoping to hook you into potential purchases.

Pretty soon Home Run Derby will be gone and replaced with some kind of hitting gimmick for stubs or who knows what. It seems only logical why the focus has been largely on pro-payment modes from a business standpoint.

Guys remember - SDS is not our friends. They are a for profit operation and make no mistake, they are all for profit. Your enjoyment from this game doesn't motivate the overlords, only your wallet does.

Sadly this looks to be the direction the franchise is heading, along with sports/gaming as a whole. It's a wonderful product, but if you're not interested in these modes it's a letdown.

I hope I'm wrong. This is my favorite game and series, but I will never just blindly support something over nostalgia. These guys are going to have to earn my $60 from here out.

Re: No Postseason Mode this year?

Well March for October according to Ramon and the research said people don’t wanna play 162 games and go
Straight to post season. So what’s the point of the mode then if that’s the reason ?

Probably like season mode taken away.

Ramone said that people don't want to play all 162 games, but don't want to sim every game either. This way there is a balance between playing and having an impact on the success/failure of your franchise versus leaving it up to chance by simulating every game.

Couple of things. First of all, the frog thing is an old wives tale. Just because it happens slowly does not mean the frog acclimates to extreme temperatures. Not really important just thought you should know.

Secondly, yes, SDS is a for profit company. Hopefully, as a for profit company, it would look at current market trends and see the warning signs. EA is currently performing far below expectations, and it's over reliance on microtransactions is the cause. The poor implementation of micro transactions is also a large part of it, and Fifa had been pointed out as one of the games that is performing far below expectations. The fact that Fifa alienated anyone who didn't want to play ultimate team was pointed out as a key factor as to why the game is now doing so poorly (along with the fact the the game has become a microtransaction nightmare).

Hopefully, SDS learns from this.

Are you a paid influencer or what's your deal? Armor, kehlis and you spend all day long trying to defend everything about the game. I understand people that just complain are horrible but so are you fanboys who cant even try to comprehend why people who post on OS would be upset about the direction the game has taken the past few years.
