MLB The Show 18 (Week 1 Sales)

We did it! After taking the initiative of being THE FIRST to publicly speak out against The Show's missing Online Franchise Mode... the results are in!

Screenshots of the USA sales have been attached but the main story is this...
After 2 consecutive years of increased sales growth (+60K & +259K) in 2016 & 2017 respectively... 2018 was the first year where SDS had a sales LOSS (-148,929 units)!

At roughly $60 per unit, that translates to almost $8.9 Million Dollars of lost sales!

To all those DD Fans that mocked and boasted "So who cares about Online Franchise, you all are gonna buy `18 anyways!" NGGHH! HOW DOES THAT PUNCH IN THE FACE FEEL LIKE?!

And to SDS... NGGHH! HOW DOES THAT HIT TO THE WALLET FEEL!? THAT'S WHAT YOU GET!

I genuinely do think it's a big factor. No, it wasn't a vocal bunch of guys. But many people were in long running leagues for years that got shut down. Although I'm still playing 18 a ton, me & my buddies had been having an absolute blast playing Online franchise the last 3 years.

It's not the same not being able to compete in the same franchise.

I think you may be simplifying things a bit. Personally, I could not give a fig about online anything. I am strictly an offline franchise guy. I did not buy the game this year because there were not enough changes in offline franchise to make a $60 investment worthwhile. Also, I know several folks who did not buy this year because there is no Season Mode.

Hopefully this encourages them to rethink their DD uber alles approach, rather than them seeing this as a reason to try and grab more money from DD to make up for the lost revenue

First, to the OP, those sales figures are not spot-on and are estimates. Second, your math is way off in how profit works. Each unit sold is not $60 profit. Lastly, even if all your assumptions were correct, this doesn't account for dlc and other purchases within the game, that could offset any dips in overall sales of the product. But just know, your math is way off for how these things work.

He said lost sales, not lost profit.

Lol, I know. And to figure out a proposed amount of lost sales you would have to deduce that from profit, right? And each unit sold is not $60, is my point.
