Every second of every day is very important, as it should be, to everyone.

Time however when playing a video game, does not equal money. Still would like to hear a counter to how it does.

Well if it takes you twice as long to do something as it should on a game then that has cost you extra time that you might have used doing something else.

It's a pretty pointless argument anyway, the reality is that he is not unreasonable to suggest a partial refund for a game that hasn't worked to a reasonable standard for a significant portion of it's reasonably expected lifespan.

The problem with a partial refund is that it's going to hurt further iterations. MLB17, while produced by a Sony developer, is going to still be looked at with a budget and looking to maximize returns...they don't get unlimited budget. They're likely going to lose money to develop the next game if they have to give back, say, $10 on every copy that signed on to the servers. In the future, they'll have even less money to develop things like Franchise Mode, or the servers, down the road and will likely attempt to recoup that by putting more into the microtransaction end of things.

Giving $20 away in virtual currency in this way doesn't really lose anything like that. This is all fake money on their end (as people who were still going to spend money on this mode will, and they'll likely not lose anything significantly more), but we get some decent content ours. I'm sure taken all into account, this is best for them developing the game in the future coupled with what they feel comfortable giving away.

I understand the frustrations many have. DD was fairly broken for a while. Servers sucked. But I guess I'm totally okay with the outcome here. SDS has attempted to fix things, they're giving $20 worth of content for free, and they'll likely continue to tune the online game play. Hopefully in the future these things start getting knocked out before the game drops.

Users got a $20 refund in the best way that they can do it.

I don't use stubs, they have zero value to me, but I would say compensations worth 1/3 of the original game cost well before we are through 1/3 of the cycle is more than fair, no?

Yes blame the victim

Your mentality of giving them excuses is what needs to stop

I took the risk of pre-ordering this game knowing this mess might happen and I still bought the game. That's on me. But FOH telling me I feel entitled when the bigger problem is that their game is broke.

Well...I think "victim" goes a little far here. It wasn't like you didn't understand the inherent risks with the servers being so crappy. There's no excuse for them being broken...but you also took a risk, put your time into a broken system, and were burned. Which blows...but is also partially your fault because it wasn't like it a secret the system was broken. You could have stopped and moved on to something else. You weren't forced to continue.

You're right that that the biggest problem are the gaming issues...but you're also getting $20 in free content. It's not like they're not trying. The compensation isn't nothing. I really find the compensation to be adequate.

I wouldn't agree that the stubs and packs actually have a $20 value, as that implies that people would have bought them anyway, which most wouldn't, but I do agree that this was by far the most plausible thing for them to do. (other than something more imaginative, content wise)

But with that being said I still believe anyone would be well within their rights to pursue a refund if they felt strongly enough about it. Whether a company can afford to give someone a refund really has no bearing on whether or not someone is entitled to one.

Just let me tell me SOB story, damn it.

I was aware of the risks. Not suggesting otherwise.
