Stud prospects in offseason free agency

In the offseason there is always 15-20 A-B potential and many C potential major league ready prospects available for signing when free agency opens after the qualifying offer period. I'm assuming these are draftees who went unsigned.

Has anyone found a resolution to prevent this from happening?

CPU teams not signing their top draft picks kills league wide competitiveness and longevity of franchise. It also makes it way to easy to have a ridiculously stacked farm system. This issue has been present for several years now.

I make a rule for myself I cant sign anyone with A or B potential unless in 50's. Can sign any C potential to fill out my minors. CPU signs them by end of FA

The question is why is this happening? Teams dont just not sign top prospects like that and let them fall into FA.

Exactly. I can make a "house rule" telling myself not to give in to the temptation of signing them. My concern is more along the lines of CPU teams not having their top pick prospects, and this definitely being a glitch or flaw in CPU team management.

I guess we can just go in and sign them if we have 30 team control.

We shouldnt have to work around them not being able to program common sense logic. I dont have the time to look up which prospect belongs where and re-sign them to their team.

Re: Stud prospects in offseason free agency

Pretty confident the reason is that the teams start with rosters too full, so don't have space to sign enough draft picks in the first season (you have to sign them before the trade deadline, so they go to free agency at the end of the year. It doesn't happen in the second season

Easily tested, just remove a few terrible players from each team before starting and see if teams sign their top draft picks or not

So we need to remove some bad players after the draft from each team?
