Did SCEA ruin hitting by accident with latest patch?

I posted this in the patch thread and got absolutely zero feedback from the community. Instead everyone was just arguing over random stuff. So, I decided to make my own topic. I ask the mods not to close this until I receive proper feedback. Please and thank you!

I saw in one of the patch notes that Power to the opposite field was tuned down in the latest patch. That's definitely a good thing since I too noticed it was way overpowered (no pun intended).

However, I'm also noticing that they may have tuned down hitting in general too much by accident.

Yesterday I one-hit a good Dodgers lineup on Hall Of Fame pitching difficulty with 67-rated Matt Cain. Could that have been a fluke? Sure, I guess. Except before the patch was released I would use guys like Syndergaard and give up between 5-7 hits a game (sometimes more) against lineups like the Phillies and Braves. Syndergaard is rated a 92 in the game...

Something here doesn't add up, IMO. Anyone else notice a lack of hitting since the latest patch?

Like I've said in other threads, I only have one game post patch to go on, but I 3 hit the Yankees in my game. Two of those hits came in the first inning. But like you said, it could have just been one of those games. I am on HOF classic pitching also.

i think its too early to tell.... however, this is the beauty of baseball. sometimes your ace gets shelled but most times hes solid.

I would suggest playing more games. A game sample could easily be a "fluke". Sometimes a pitcher is on and sometimes a team just couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat.

I do believe the power has been toned down a bit, but I don't believe that hitting in general has changed. The ball physics are still alive and present. I played two games last night and both were offensive type of games with multiple hits, doubles, and homeruns.

This was on HOF Default with Meter pitching and Zone hitting.

HAHA!

I'm definitely happy with him. Usually those hits wouldn't lead to many runs since I'm pretty good at pitching out of jams in this game.

Re: Did SCEA ruin hitting by accident with latest patch?

I crushed the Red Sox 11-3 in one game. I hit 4 majestic bombs over the Green Monster.

Then I shut them out with Jeremy Hellickson and Bentances. They had Sale go 8 IP 0 ER. Took him out in the 9th (not unreasonable he had a very high pitch count) and I roped a solo HR off Thornburg to win it with Starlin Castro.

Then I was beaten 6-1 in my Cardinals fantasy franchise.

I don’t think hitting has been overly tuned down. But it certainly is not as lively as it was pre patch.

You know my thoughts about audio perception on this topic as well with the bat sound so I will not repeat myself (check my last post in the patch impressions thread).

Things will be fixed again in another update soon.

But solid hits was tuned down IMO.

However we need a more robust sample size post patch to really form a good consensus opinion. So let’s give it some time. But playing this game as much as I have (I have played non stop day and night since releases) it was certainly changed a little. I felt it immediately.

Absolutely correct CB. They are gorgeous and alive and well. I think solid hits was tuned down a tad as well as the oppo power. And solid hits would IMO be the way to deduct opposite field power from outside and inside the zone.

Re: Did SCEA ruin hitting by accident with latest patch?

Thank you guys for all the fast feedback!

This community really is the best.

I'm assuming they did in fact tune down solid hits in addition to the power a tad. Glad others noticed it too.
