Anyone noticed if they've fixed the issue with many players' skin tone being too dark? Ivan Nova comes to mind. I want to say Kolten Wong has the problem too, but not sure. They had this issue last year but patched it.

Welcome to OS!

Can you point me where this fix is. If I already started a franchise am I screwed. I was wondering why I didn't see any injuries, now I know

It's a small sample size but I didn't change my strategy when it came to pitching and the WP and PB were basically cut in half.

EDIT: Forgot to mention;
Nelson Cruz just hit 3 home runs, the furthest being a 419 foot homerun to left.

Like I said its really an extremely small sample size. I've also been able to not nitpick as much as others on the site and have been able to overlook a lot of issues in the game. Today I'm specifically looking at the catcher issue and the homerun distances. I'll post more as I get through some more games.

Maybe I'm lucky.
Played about 4 more games since posting this and basically the TLDR;

It seems I am not lucky and it seems that the catcher issue is not completely fixed. Also it seems I am playing in the deadball era now.

Screwed is accurate. You can't change the 'cpu roster control' setting once a franchise is in progress. That is one of the few on/off switches that need to be set as you want it from the jump.

This option is on one of the initial screens when you first click on franchise mode.

Do we have any more conclusive data about QC games being even marginally better than pre-patch, or conclusive data that they're not?

Less than a day into the patch I don't think it's possible to have conclusive data at this point despite what some will say.

No conclusive data but in 3 games i played slightly better with manager hook low but not where it needs to be ,leaning towards sticking with full which in my opinion works fine I got a 5.0,5.2,and 6.0 on Qc but the 6 pull was up 10-1 had thrown 85 pitches.The 5.2 had thrown just 68 up 3-1.

Expecting all the settings left at 5 out of the box to work like a well-oiled machine for everyone is pretty pollyannaish, don't you think? People that continue to refuse to figure out their own best settings will continue to complain about the game not working great for them. That should surprise nobody.

As for the game "working properly" -- I can agree with you; there shouldn't be glitches and oddities. Clipping, hitches, or whatever. Sliders should have no bearing on that at all. But as far as stats and homers and stamina and most gameplay issues, clearly sliders can and should be adjusted as needed to smooth it over.

I'm not attacking you particularly with this post, but I just feel strongly about the logic of people needing to experiment sometimes to find the best settings for themselves. The idea of having all these options there to adjust and not touching them while complaining all the while is very foreign to me.
Firstly I should've put that this was coming from a guy that does use modified sliders so I get where you are coming from but for you and others to say that you have to adjust the sliders to get the game to 'work properly' (and I use that term loosely) is kind of absurd too because if you are playing online then those games are played with default sliders so I don't think it's that unreasonable to expect the game to not be as unbalanced as it can be while playing on default
