Imagine the game putting you in a scenario in little league (bases loaded with 2 outs in a game swaying position), and playing just one at bat. That one at bat could effect certain statistics of your characters attributes down the road (batting clutch, etc). Of course it would take a ton of code to do the young players and such, but could be a really amazing experience and connect you to your character much more.

They did that in the Journey in Fifa this year.

I really think the choices you make might determine the course of a position change or it might not, I think they have thought about this and it is just one scenario that could happen.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's probably dependent on organizational need. I'll spoiler tag since this goes into some of the Gamespot video content:

At 11:34, the manager explains his reasoning to the player - that the White Sox have a positional need at RF.

Probably a good question for the Thursday stream, though.
