Where is Phillies manager Pete Mackanin?

Just wondering if anyone knows why he isn't in the game? I know that they can't put coaches in who are first year coaches but Pete was the interim manager last year and was resigned to a new deal for 2016. Thinking he should be in the game instead of the generic developer guy.

Most likely because there wasn't a deal signed between Mackanin and SDS.

Hmm.. I thought that coaches are covered under the players union? I know this is what prevents minor league players from being represented in the game (until their first ML at bat), but figured that since he was a coach last year (and a third base coach from 14-15) he'd surely be in.

No I think coaches are contracted individually.

I could be wrong though.

Ron Washington isn't in the game as Oakland's 3rd base coach either, but there's commentary on a foul ball hit towards the coaching box that says his name

Hmm, yeah I would think that he should definitely be in the game. Weird.

Any chance of him being added through an update? Says a ton about how amazing this game is that his omission is so glaring (to a Phillies fan, that is).

No, he won't be added until next year. Such has been the same for coaches in previous games that were missing.
