How do YOU steal?

The way I see it, there are two ways to steal as a base runner.

Method A (Manual, press and hold right trigger):
This is a more involved way to steal bases and involves timing your release just as the pitcher winds up, however you can press and hold the retreat button and your base runner will retreat automatically if picked on.

Method B (Automatic, press right trigger once):
This is an awesome way to earn stolen bases, however you have to pay attention to the pitcher throwing over and manually retreat if necessary.

I used method A for a long time and only recently discovered method B. Both methods involve paying attention to the pitcher, which is cool. However, I think base stealing is a little bit too easy, even on higher difficulties.

With that being said - which method do you prefer?

Re: How do YOU steal?

I have been using Method B, but have never had to manually retreat on a pickoff. AI still takes my runner back on a pickoff. There are some bad jumps, but if I get them, I just retreat my runner back while the pitch is on its way.

Re: How do YOU steal?

I mainly use method B which is why I voted for it, but I occasionally use method A. I'll often use it for non-traditional base-stealers when facing a pitcher with a slow windup as a way to get around the bad baserunning attribute.

I'll also rarely use it with my base-stealers if I'm really worried about a bad jump. 98% of the time I'm using method B with my base-stealers though.

Re: How do YOU steal?

I use auto baserunning, and I'll hit the button before the pitch to direct the batter to steal, and then when I'm comfortable that the pitcher is far enough into his windup, I'll direct the runner to lead off another step.

I'm not sure that thats either poll option, but its how I've always done it.
