Hello my colonial cousins (A Brit needs Franchise help)

Hello baseball fans !

Now, let me start by addressing the fact that I am not a huge baseball fan, yet I find myself buying this game every year because it is really fun, my mode is RTTS because it demands very little of me, controlling 1 person is about all I can muster.

However I have decided that this year needs to be the year I try to understand the games franchise mode which has previously just looked extremely dense and impenetrable, much more so than say a Madden, 2k or NHL franchise mode which are all easy to follow.

Basically, I need your help in trying to understand what is going on, from the ground up, are there any good guides to read like a Baseball GM for dummies ? as that is exactly what I am going to need.

There is an INSANE amount of info in the in-game help. I believe if you press the touch pad to bring up the quick menu, there is an option called "Handbook" or something. Check that out when you can. Sorry if my instructions are incorrect, but the info is there in the game

if you're just starting out and want to wade in the shallow end of the pool a bit before jumping into the deep end, try season mode.

it's kind of franchise "lite" and goes for more than 1 season as the name implies.

either way.. this site is great for community help.

I second this. Season mode was my first step to becoming a hardcore franchiser. I also recommend enabling force trades for your first season. Allowing yourself to build a stacked team for the first go makes it a little less intimidating. Season is very similar to franchise, except you don't have to do a full 162 game season and you don't have to manage your minor leagues.

Once you get the hang of managing season mode, you're ready for franchise. Season should have taught you most of what you need to know, and the extra work isn't as intimidating now.

Cheers, Stobzilla!

I'm a huge sports fan, but never understood or appreciated your beautiful game of football. The FIFA game is mostly responsible for me becoming a fan now. I now can watch it, follow it, understand the game, understand strategy, appreciate the play and skill of the players, etc.

I wish the same for you, as you get to know our "beautiful game" of baseball! Good luck!
