Pick-off Moves

I play franchise and as a spectator. I have never seen a pitcher or catcher attempt to hold a runner by throwing over or trying to pick that runner off. Is there a slider I don't have set right??

Re: Pick-off Moves

Is that CPU vs. CPU game or MoM?

I have seen just one pickoff in CPU vs. CPU games (I've probably closely watched more than a few dozen games worth of it)... so it does happen. But it definitely is way less frequent than it should be.

Re: Pick-off Moves

The "I skip every cutscene" crowd won't agree, but I really wish the AI would throw over more often even when I don't take the extra step. They do it sometimes with really fast guys, but they should really do it kinda-sorta a lot even with slow guys. 1 throw to first every other baserunner or something would make for a realistic pace.

Re: Pick-off Moves

I don't know, man. Granted, I play 14, but it seems like the CPU threw to first WAY too often and is successful at a nearly 30% clip, which is just ridiculous. I'm constantly getting picked off. I've even moved the slider of CPU pickoff frequency all the way to the left and it's still a problem.

And I'm talking about guys with 90+ speed, 90+ baserunning ability and 90+ base stealing ability getting picked off all the time.

But if it's gotten better this year, then awesome.

Re: Pick-off Moves

Thats weird. When i am playing the CPU and take an extra step off the bag I get a CPU throw over close to 60% of time.

Re: Pick-off Moves

If you do not take an extra step the cpu will not throw over. Maybe you will see it once in 10 or 15 games or something but it surely needs to be tweaked.

They did fix the issue from last year where it threw over way too often and after the second or third throw over you were picked off...but they took it to the other extreme this year. It needs to be patched or fixed in 16.

I honestly see the CPU try to pick me off a lot and it has a fairly high success rate as well.

Re: Pick-off Moves

I did successfully pick the CPU off once. It is extremely rare and the cat and mouse that is the running game is sadly missing from this years game
