The part where Lawrie is at bat and swings, it looks like they have his little hand movement before he comes through with the bat...great little detail

2. If you look at players with long hair or a pony-tail...the hair doesn't seem to move a bit (Seems to be a general problem, Madden has it too)

But these a just small things which don't destroy my exitement for the game
I didn't notice the building details in the background so no comment on that. As far as the hair moving goes I agree with tnixen in that maybe they just couldn't get it to move correctly. If that was the case I would personally rather have hair that stays still than hair that moves around like the dreads in ncaa football. Makes me feel like I'm playing with Medusa!

All in all though, how high can a hype meter go? I'm pretty sure mine is maxed out. I can't wait to see this on my actual tv versus my computer screen.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Video and Screenshot Captures - Baseball Is Better on PS4

Well I guess Blzer presented himself better than I can. I just seem to rile people up.... the Malcom X to MLK... um okay I'll stop now lol. Anyway, that was a nice refined post about what is going on.

I am the first person to tell people that a PC doesn't really matter anymore. I can say with 100% certainty, because I know the architecture of the PS4 system fairly well, and have word that the Sony tools for said hardware are good and getting great, that they will be able to up what they are doing here by a considerable margin. I think these 'just the beginning' quotes are just that: truth. You can quote me on that. We'll look back on 14 like it was an 08 by the time 17 hits.

The ONLY reason I bring up PC is because like it or not the PS4 is coming VERY close to recognizing PC graphics and utilities AND it's on closed platform which makes coding to the 'metal' easier than normal. Sure, it will never be as powerful as a Titan XXX but that doesn't matter. What they have gotten out of the machine at launch IS impressive, as it is with all the major Sony titles.

As Blzer outlined the lighting in this game is getting really damn good. The reflections and details have taken an enormous leap in many cases. All of these things are coming together nicely. SO much so that I don't even worry about them and IT CAN seem like I am not pointing them out. Well, that could not be further from the truth in some respects. I REALLY like what they have done with fans and if anyone can remember I WAS a huge critic of the fans in the last games. That is no longer even a priority in my book as they have definitely not only gotten on the right track they are surpassing expectations there minus the oddity.

As he also points out though, we need criticism. There are so many anecdotal stories I could give on PC and Sony consoles, and the threads that have to do with specific games, where developers were helped out or learned something new about their own game. What might seem like negativity to some is mostly the gradual shifting of flaws into what we all want to call the perfect simulation. Of course said negativity can also derail things, it can hurt people's feelings, possibly sales if it gets bad enough, etc.

I hope people can see this as it happens here every year. This team is very involved with the forum and hence the forum likes to defend the team a lot. Well that is okay, but it can go overboard. There is no room for sleeping with simulations imo or you risk becoming another Madden, an inside joke that never goes away and never stops being funny.

No one wants that for this series least of all people like me. I hold the dev team in high regard. It doesn't mean I am going to stop pushing for what I feel is one of the most magical things in baseball: the glowing green grass under the stadium lights at night. The animations that make the players come alive and the distinct feel and ambiance of the places we all go to watch our favorite sports. Those are some things I think they can definitely improve. I would like to see some work done on a couple of them for 15, and I hope they find the time and passion to do it.

Not much impresses me anymore, but what shot of McCutch with the light shining on him and that bling was breathtaking, and gave me chills.

PS4 here I come!

Love how the King gets the dramatic music cut. His windup needs to be recaptured though, his glove position at foot strike is supposed to be tight to his hip instead of this:

Everything else looks good except for one thing - is there still aliasing on the shoes or are those supposed to be stitch marks?

Minus by previous criticisms, it is shots like these that by MLB 16-17 are going to start looking photorealistic if they keep on chugging away. It's going to be a fun gen this time around on consoles. A marked improvement from the last one where the previous 3 or so years have seemed like a slog to some of us. The PS4 is certainly deserving of all its praise. It does have a weak CPU but it's also an engineering miracle. You just have to look at the mediocre tech inside the larger Xbox One to see how much that is true.

That shot has a lot going for it.
