MM09's 2008 Roster Set (MLB 20) (WIP)

Hey everyone! If you've been in the classic roster thread lately, you might've seen my post about a 2008 roster that I've started work on. This thread will hopefully provide some details on what all to expect from it and a little background.

Why 2008?

2008 was the first year I started following the Twins/MLB with the fandom/attention to detail that I have now. So it makes sense that MLB 08 for PS2 was the first game in The Show series that I played and I've been hooked ever since. I worked on OSFM from 2011-2017 and I've always had a desire to put those roster skills to the test with a historic project for the community to enjoy. I actually had a 2008 project for MLB 13 that I got halfway through, but never posted about it on OS. So, I figured it was time to get it done this time around.

What to expect

My attention to detail can be a gift and a curse for rosters, to say the least. While this helps the overall quality, it also means I have the tendency to nitpick small things that consume a lot more time than I would like. I don't expect this roster to be done soon, but I started some preliminary work in MLB 19 and have a good idea of how I want this project to look.

My first thought is that I'll initially release a 40 man set and then eventually put out a final 90 man set. Things can change, but I'll at least make sure there's a 40 man roster for every team.

Details

Thanks to the Wayback Machine and various resources I've accumulated, Heights/Weights AND Options/Service Time will be 100% accurate as of 2008 (Heights/Weights via team rosters on MLB.com). I'll try to get career statistics in the general range, but I don't want to get too caught up with those. However, I do want to at least make sure rookies are correctly designated as so (130 AB/50 IP limit).

CAPs/Equipment/Stances & Motions will be done to the best of my ability. I've provided a few previews of what I have so far in the post below.

For ratings, I plan on using the incredible RBU Roster Tool from JTommy67 and pitch edits courtesy of MBMav20 and his awesome historic pitch edit spreadsheet!

Hopefully I've provided all the info you need to get a general idea of what I'm going for here, but feel free to ask any questions or let me know if you have requests! I will provide updates as the project progresses. No ETA currently, but hopefully I can get a good idea in the next few weeks.

Completed Teams

Twins
Rays
White Sox
Angels
Brewers
Red Sox
Cleveland
Tigers
Royals
Rangers

Awesome..first time my Angels won 100 games. Now I can re write history and take out those redsox. On a personal note, I took a trip with my father and grandfather both of which are no longer here. We followed the Angels to Boston and saw Fenway for the first time. The game we went to was when Texiera got traded and we followed to New York after that. Same road trip and saw a game at the old Yankee Stadium.. Truly an epic experience that I will never forget.
