OS94 (MLB 15) Topic (v1 is out!)

Figured I'd start a new topic since I doubt most of you care about reading about how much of the Expos I've got left to port over from Knight's data...

Especially when, a year later, I can tell you how much of the Expos I've got left to export/import from my MLB 14 data :-p And that is, the pitching staff.

This is of course the 90-man roster project covering the 1994 season. I'm over half way done.

As I move along the Export/Import, I'll be uploading the main stars from each team in the players vault. They're exported anyway, why not.

We have editable contracts, once everybody is in the MLB 15 file, I'll get on these for the MLB players.

The ETA for a first release in MLB 15 is 30 days, max. One day to port each team.

NL East ported.

And 27 players individually posted in the vault.

I'm ahead of my ETA, I'll probably have this done in 2 weeks.

NL Central ported.

Now 39 players in the Players Vault.

Still way ahead of my ETA, probably moreso now. In two weeks I'll probably have salaries done.

Re: OS94 (MLB 15) Topic

Just to give you guys an idea of the new in-game economics...

The salaries are calculated using a formula that uses the average salaries of 1994 and 2015 as well as the average amount they earned per year in their existing contract in 1994. This is mathematically the equivalent of what they made in 1994 in today's baseball's economics.

Contract durations are figured using salary history and years the players were granted free agency.

St-Louis Payroll & Contract Durations

(Salary is amount per year)

Jefferies 15,2M/1y
Tewksbury 11,7M/1y
O. Smith 10M/3y
Zeile 9M/1y
Pagnozzi 9M/3y
Lankford 7,5M/2y
Oquendo 7,2M/2y

Murphy 2M/2y
Habyan 1,8M/2y

Re: OS94 (MLB 15) Topic

So, I just overwrote my file with the Live Roster.

That's okay, I'll port THE ENTIRE NATIONAL LEAGUE back in again.

It's real easy to have a moment where you pay less attention and accidentally overwrite your save. They should have put that Save Live Roster option elsewhere.

Phil,

Same happened to me and I totally agree it should have been placed in a different location or at least required another acknowledgement response before overwriting the current roster file.

Good Luck with your work --- it is much appreciated !

Re: OS94 (MLB 15) Topic

Hmmm the game doesn't like too many retirements at once, it crashed on the Retirement screen when I tested a game that had 100% generic, retirement-bound outfielders. Hope I can still generic out expansion teams with retirement bound guys without it crashing.

FYI, the game answered having no outfielder younger than 45 by having an entry draft that was 100% outfielders! So, technically, every player in the game could retire and the next season would have a 100% fictional but perfectly functional roster of rookies.

EDIT: Expansion teams will work fine.

Phil, Any news on the status of your port to '15? I am so looking forward to this roster and was wondering what was up.
