MBMavs20 Pitch Edits 2024

Greetings everyone, now that the season has started I wanted to post my pitch edits.

Every pitcher that threw a pitch in the 2023 season is included, except position players.

A couple of things about my edits:

-I use brooksbaseball.net for my edits.
-If a 4 Seam Fastball has more than 4 inches of horizontal movement, I use a Running Fastball.
-I prefer 2 Seam Fastballs to Sinkers because of their horizontal movement.
-Some pitchers will have a Knuckle Curveball listed even if they don't throw one because I think it best represents the Curveball they throw.
-There are a lot more pitchers throwing 'Sweepers" or Slurves than in previous years. If I Slider has 5 or more inches of horizontal movement, I use a Slurve.

If a pitcher only has 2 pitches listed, I will use a 4 Seam or Running Fastball as their 3rd pitch and just knock down the control to 15 and movement to 10. For Example, Paul Sewald throws a Running Fastball (92 MPH) and a Slurve (84 MPH). For his 3rd pitch, I would use a 4 Seam Fastball (92 MPH).

Here is a link to my spreadsheet. Enjoy everyone.

Fantastic work.

One question regarding changeups though since they're so limited in terms of velocity. If a pitcher throws an upper 80s changeup, do you make it a splitter?

I have not updated my spreadsheet yet. For new pitchers, I usually wait until they have about 4-5 starts under their belts. I will probably update and add new pitchers over the weekend.

I hope every year that the developers fix this and every year I am disappointed.

Yes, if a pitcher has a change-up and he throws it over 88 MPH, (84 MPH for other pitchers), I will use a Forkball instead of a Splitter because the Forkball's have more horizontal movement.
