Am i correct that the "My Ballplayer" that you create to be used in RTTS (and I think DD) CANNOT be used in Franchise?

In other words is there any way to get the ballplayer you created from up in the left corner of the game into a roster in Franchise without using the Create a Player in the Roster Control menu?
