Controller inconsistency

About 2 weeks ago I noticed that 1 out of every 20 times I push a button it does not register on the game. Also, 1 out of every 15 times it is slightly delayed. Sometimes there are delays where the PS3 seems to get stuck for a second or two when I am scrolling around on the menus of the game also. I bought a new controller and I have the same problem. I notice no difference when I use the remote control(different than the game controller) to watch Netflix on my PS3. The only game I play is MLB the Show and I can't even play due to wild pitches and intended swings not happening or being slightly late. I have a good feel for the game since I have been playing it for many years, so I don't think it is a timing issue on my end. I have changed nothing in my PS3 set up or my TV. I think the problem is in my PS3 somehow, but I have no idea on how to fix it. HELP!

Just incase anyone else has this issue, I figures it out by accident. One of the random times my controller decided not to sync with the PS3 happened. After I went through the process of getting it synced, I never had the problem again. Hopefully it stays that way.
