No sound at all

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone can help me out with something. I just bought the game and when I boot it up, there is no sound at all. When I exit out of the game (actual game, not baseball game) the sound comes back, but whenever I start the game, the sound completely stops working. I was hoping someone can help me fix this. Did I just buy a broken copy?
