Re: Spring Training

I always just end spring training so I can get to the regular season faster.

Re: Spring Training

I always used to play it in the past when I had more time on my hands. But now I just hit end Spring Training and be done with it. I figure the season is long enough without packing an extra 30 games on it. Meaningless games at that.

Re: Spring Training

Agree with the more time thing...when I had the time, I'd play it. However with time constraints now I dont. However, I do sim(not just end)and check stats after and see if I wanna make any roster changes

Re: Spring Training

All I do is play a game for each one of my starters in my rotation which is about 5 games unless I have a guy fighting with another guy for a spot in the rotation which is an extra game or 2. When I play a game, I pitch 3 innings with my starter and use bullpen guys for about 2 innings each game until I have used every one twice this doesn't count the closer. He only goes once here and there unless I have someone fighting for that position. Of course I play the position starters for about 4 or 5 innings or until they have had 2-3 at bats. After the first spring trainging game though, I play all back ups to fight for positions and bench spots on the team. When I have used all my starting pitchers and relivers and guys fighting for a spot I'm done with spring and I'll sim the rest of the games in spring. Whoever I did best with will make the team for me and I'll even look at the spring stats that I simmed to help out. So all in all, I play about 5-6 games and sim the rest. Makes opening day much more enjoyable to play and start the season.

Re: Spring Training

Don't play spring training, I actually did a few games this year but they don't mean much at least the first season so I just don't bother! Sometimes I sim it, if I have 2 guys fighting for a spot, to see how each perform then I can make my decision, but otherwise it's end spring training and move on!

Re: Spring Training

I played all the spring training games with franchise this year. I then started a season mode and skipped all but the last game in spring training.
