Best Sports Game

With no disrespect to the NHL, FIFA and NBA 2K series, The Show is by far the best sports game on a console. I have owned every iteration since The Show 08 and for the first time I really stopped, looked and appreciated what I was playing.

The visuals, player animation variety, crowds, stadium sounds, etc. are incredible. Not sure why it took me this long to really look at what I was playing but the game is absolutely incredible. The attention to detail like including pink bats on Mother's Day for breast cancer awareness is just the tip of the ice berg.

This will be a game that in the future people will look back and call it a classic. It has its imperfections and people dog the commentary (which I find well done but basically nothing new for a few years) but the game's overall package eliminates any such issues.

In a world where people criticize first and appreciate later, I hope everyone stops in the middle of a game (regardless of what it is) to look around and see what it is they are actually playing.

Even NCAA 13 for its negative attention is a beautiful game.

I'd have to strongly agree.
Ever since March I've played nothing but Mlb 12 The Show. I wasn't excited for NCAA at all (as I usually am) this year. I held back from buying NCAA because of some poor reviews so I downloaded a free trial off of the PS store. I played it for about 15 minutes and then I quit because I was bored, in 15 minutes.
The Show is so much deeper than all of these other game, it's quite incredible actually.

I agree.
I have 'em all....play(ed) them all to at least some extent....and far and away I agree with you guys.

Still room for improvement, as I'm sure we'll see in '13, but this is the most fun I've had with a sports game in a LOOOONG "career" of playing anything and everything sports.

I agree. I was strictly a 360 gamer until recently when I bought a ps3 for the blu ray and the show was the first game i bought. I have been addicted to the game ever since.

I agree, I only have one big complaint, the strike zone. It just makes me angry when I throw a pitch right down the middle and it is called a ball, but the cpu does not even get it over the plate and they call it a strike. Other then that I love the game.

Highly doubt you throw a cockshot right dead center it called a ball...

Best sports game by far imo. None of the others mentioned are even close, especially not fifa and I'm a huge football (soccer) fan but that game doesn't represent the sport very well.

The Show 12 has been my video game life since it's release. My NCAA 13 came yesterday.....it's still in the shrink wrap.

I don't see this game not being played till The Show 13 comes around....then I will check things out in regards to 13. It will be hard for me to get 13 on release though. I am so immersed in my Marlins franchise, my 1984 season replay, 1996 season replay, I have yet to get into the fictional rosters yet (and I will as they look great) you also have Jethro's 1990 franchise roster set coming out some time for 12....and then I still have a 1987 franchise going on The Show 11.

Truly amazing game. I have been sports gaming since Atari 2600. I have never played a sports game (other than NBA2K11) as amazing as The Show 12. It has a couple of flaws but what game doesn't? There are so many small little details that make the whole so great. The commentary is very solid despite it being pretty much the same since 2009 (my first Show game) but they still have added each year.

The ball physics are pretty amazing this year. Another thing they vastly improved the the ball off the bat sounds as well as the catching (ball hitting the mitt) sounds. Also the grips in broadcast view are sweet as well as the spins.

So much greatness in this game. Couple that with a great community here at OS making all these awesome rosters to DL and what more could you ask for?

If your a true baseball junkie and love baseball video games....there is no other video game that rivals The Show 12. None.

The jump from 9 to 11 was huge for me. I did not expect the same from 11 to 12.....yet they did it.

Now just get that bottom line ticker working properly again (decimal issue for league leaders, inter-league scores issue) with a small patch!
