Yeah I'm aware of all the confidence stuff but I find throwing 8 warmups to be very boring and time-consuming. I use, on average, 3 relievers in a game. I have no interest in throwing 24 pointless pitches with a batter not even at the plate.

While I would normally agree with you, I find that this adds a high level of realism, and also gives me an idea what to expect with the pitcher I just put into this huge spot... Sure, its only eight pitches, but its apparent in this game that pitchers have different stuff from day to day. Some days they have great stuff, other days they need to come out from the second you put them in.

For example, I brought in Joaquin Benoit to my franchise in the last game of my Boston series. After seeing his warm-ups, I immediately started warming another hurler... and it was well-advised, seeing as he got one out and then served up a jack, and then back-to-back doubles.

I guess maybe its just me, but I don't look at it as boring. I look at it as informative and helpful... If it didn't do anything, I'd totally agree with you... but the fact that it has both a mental/information benefit, and a game mechanic benefit makes it a no brainer for me.

But, that's just me.

I get it and this is gonna sound ridiculous because I never skip through any broadcast cut-aways, but I find the 8 warm up pitchers to be the most boring, time consuming task in the entire game.

And being that I generally do not enjoy skipping any scenes, to press x and speed up the warm ups would actually take away some sense of realism.

It sounds beyond crazy, but a look at this thread tells me I can't be the only one.

IMO, it doesnt matter who the pitcher is nor his attributes, its how YOU as the gamer use him.

I can win with any pitcher vs any team regardless of his repertoire or his confidence in it, because I know how to use them.

I searched the forum for an answer regarding this and found this thread from May, but I get a bit confused:

Do I understand correctly that ONLINE, you still benefit from warming up your pitchers (warming up as chosing the action WARM UP)?

yea that would be pretty unrealistic if u can just bring in a pitcher right away without getting ur arm loose. The only way it would work really to me is if there was a arcade mode and u turn off certain sliders/ put on some boosters.

For me, I don't have to warm a pitcher up in the bullpen, but once he is in the game, he is fully ready, yet you still have the option to throw the 8 warm up pitches which affects your pitchers confidence in the particular pitch you select to throw in the 8 pitch warm up. It also gives you a feeling of how the pitchers breaking ball is breaking on a particular day and where his accuracy is.
