You can tell them.
For sure.

Again....my points have little to do with the actual patch, but more on the point that guys are referring to the in progress franchise saves and "how can they not test that?"

WE are not even getting the same things across the board.

This is not about slack......me getting invited to SCEA(hint....even if I said "this patch sucks", which I wouldn't, but not for the reasons you guys would likely jump to conclusions on)....I'll likely still get the invite. You guys who bring that up constantly need to let go of that a little. Seriously.
....and more about the fact that you need to realize that what you guys are talking about is an impossibility.
It is impossible for them to test the patch in regards to OUR saved games.
Obviously.....something unique to certain saves is causing problems.

With that....I didn't say "patches are a crapshoot" but rather "patches on SAVED games is a crapshoot".

If the problem was arising on totally fresh starts......I could agree.

Guys...please don't twist what I'm saying because you're angry.
It's not right.

That's fine then, I know things happen. Can they return my money for training points so I can start over with the patches? If I have to start over, I have to. But I'd at least like a refund ASAP.

I'm in a bit of a pickle here. Do I delete the patches, continue with my RTTS and forget about franchise mode
Or do I download patches, so F it to my RTTS and start a new franchise mode.

I'm enjoying this game a ton, but can't do both modes I like now.

The MLB series is one of my favorites. And I have the utmost respect for the developers. They're far from lazy and they obviously care about the product they put out (of course, this goes for EA and 2K as well). Year in and year out they produce one of - if not the - best sports games on the market.

But this patch fiasco is simply unacceptable. These patches have broken the game for a significant number of users. If there's too many variables to accurately test the patch and make sure that it will work across all variables then don't release the patch. Simple as that. You can't break the game for X% of the buyers and then say "sorry, it was too hard to make it work for everyone. Better luck next time."

And it's pretty obvious now that the adjustment in the schedule on both patches is what is wreaking havoc. A simple statement of "hey, the schedules are different now, we recommend restarting any career modes" would have gone a long way, I think.

It'd be really nice too - and this isn't MLB specific - if they could do patches like NHL does tuners. You could select and choose which patch you want. Don't like 1.16? Go back to 1.06.

Anyway, this whole thing aggravates me, and I've been one of the lucky ones (knock on wood) who hasn't had any problems.

With this I completely agree. How many people even wanted a schedule patch in the first place? My guess is practically no one. Heck I probably would have never even noticed that the handful of re-scheduled games weren't right in The Show anyway.

With this I agree, but this has nothing to do with The Show and SCEA. Patches are uploaded to PSN and managed from there. This would be ideal, but it would be on Sony's PSN division to make it happen. The Show's team has no control over how patches are organized and handled. They just make em and upload em

Ummmm....how would they know this until the patch is released?

Honestly with common sense. If you make a patch that affects franchise and RTTS mode, isn't it logical to presume that the patch will affect franchise and RTTS files?

I know they had no way of knowing all this stuff would happen, but a disclaimer would have gone a long way. Instead of assuming it was safe (with pre-existing files), they should have assumed it wasn't.

Re: MLB 12 The Show Game Update 1.16 Arrives, Details Included - Post Your Impression

My franchise (A's 2012, Custom Roster based of OD OSFM) was in mid June when I DL'ed the patch...

Played a game, simmed my usual half dozen until the starter I play as was probable again, saved my usual two (main and backup) and walked away...

Came to the thread and saw that many were experiencing freezes (I had to restart after the first patch)...

I made a third clone franchise save and ran a season sim...

Everything looks fine...all teams played 162, etc...

I've invested too much time up to this point to restart, so I'll just keep up with this one unless / until I see a problem...

So far, so good...

I'm not sure what benefit this patch has for my single player / franchise / versus CPU / playing style...

It would be cool if these companies released detailed patch notes beforehand and gave us the option to decline patches that don't affect the way us offline guys often choose to do...

All that being said:

"I Love This Game"!

He was saying that if the patch breaks the game for XX amount of users....don't release the patch.

How would they know if it did or not?
Like I said....WE as a community are not even getting the same results from the patch.

I know it sounds like I'm "defending" SCEA. ....but this is for games and game companies in general that I'm speaking about. It's just common sense that testing this as much as everyone would like is not a possibility in regards to saved games.

I can't put the onus on the user either....as if you don't patch...you can't use the online services....so it's certainly a bad situation unless you have two PS3's and use them for different parts of the game(offline/online)
