Fantasy Draft

Hey guys, I just completed a fantasy draft with the OSFM Opening Day Rosters. I was hoping to get a conversation going about who else is doing a fantasy draft and hopefully whoever is can post their team here as well. I think it could be fun to see how different people draft and also to see how our teams stack up against each. Hope this sparks some interest. Anyways here is my team (Boston Red Sox)...

I picked 30th Overall to get that "underdog" feeling. This is my MLB team straight out of the draft without any trades whatsoever...

Re: Fantasy Draft

I to did a fantasy draft franchise, But I'm going for some youth and probably not going to go deep in the playoffs, or make it all together. Currently my team is on fire starting the season out.

there is a link to my thread if you want to check it out. There seems to be a couple of CPU teams that kinda went the youth route and a few that have some stacked lineups and solid pitching, kind of going for that "win now" type of deal.

I just started out and am 1-2, although I avoided an opening sweep with a 15-3 rout of the Tigers. I saw Rivera wound up on the Yankees in yours, Jeter wound up on the Yankees in mine lol.

Re: Fantasy Draft

Thanks man, I think you ended up with a better lineup. I like the Brandon Phillips, Hamilton and Heyward combo. Im getting good production out of Montero and Harper atm though. I dont see this hot streak continuing much longer though, sooner or later the youth will show up in my rotation haha. That's also hilarious Jeter went to the Yanks in yours haha, Mauer also went to the Twins in mine and I think theres a couple of other guys who got picked by their team.

Re: Fantasy Draft

Nice line up except why bourjos over crisp. Crisp is faster than him and can actually bat.

Re: Fantasy Draft

Well i dont have my team near me right now. But i made myself some rules because its 2 easy to just pick up a bunch of A potential players. So i made it i could only have 5 players under the age of 25 with A POT. Meaning i either draft really young A pot and wait or draft those players older and be good now.

I know of the top of my head:
2b Dustin Ackley
C Jesue Montero
P Danny Hultzen and tijaun walker

If you couldnt tell i like the M's and that's who i played with. Oh also after the !5th round i stopped looking at POT's of players

Re: Fantasy Draft

I got one with the Braves that my brother in law and I play every 6 games on co-op. Had the 7th pick in the draft.

Line Up:

(LF) Brett Gardner
(2B) Dustin Ackley
(SS) Troy Tulowitzki
(RF) Bryce Harper
(3B) Brett Lawrie
(CF) Colby Rasmus
(1B) Freddie Freeman
[C] Buster Posey

Bench:
[C] Steve Clevenger
(2B) Gordon Beckham
(SS) Francisco Lindor
(CF) Lorenzo Cain
(1B) Matt LaPorta

Beckham and LaPorta platoons against lefties

Rotation:
Yovani Gallardo
Matt Moore
Wily Peralta
Taylor Jungmann
Dylan Bundy

Pen:
Aaron Crow
Mike Montgomery
Louis Coleman
Carlos Villanueva
Aroldis Chapman
Kenley Jansen
Tyler Clippard

Clippard is my closer. Needed another lefty in the pen so Montgomery is there for a 2nd lefty and long reliever for now.

Minors:
Taijuan Walker
Tyler Thornberg
Joe Ross
Domonic Brown
Bubba Starling
Miguel Sano

14 other B's

My rotation sucks now, but 3 of the 7 young unproven starters have to become something. Don't really need anything, just sit back and watch these guys get better. Something that's nice when we are just playing games and not really worried about the GM side of the franchise.
