Why is there stuttering?

Sometimes when the CPU pitcher is throwing the ball, there will be a quick pause before pitch continues. I don't see this happening in every game, but it seems to be in more games than not. When it does occur in a game, it's like a few times, not many. I have my TV set to "Game" mode. Why does it happen and is there a solution?

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I just got the PS3 a few weeks ago, and The Show is the only game being played on it.

I did it but would be very surprised if that was the problem. It took like five seconds to rebuild!

Some people say it works others don't. I think it's just this years game. The other verisons have not had this problem.

I know this is probably the placebo effect we talk about, but on the last two occasions to play the game during my season, I loaded up the game, then went to do something, which meant the beginning lineups, introductions etc... ran through their entirety without my hitting A to fast forward to the game.

Both games ran without a hitch, no stutter, all game long.

The third game, I clicked through to the opening pitch, and got the dreaded stutter...
