1080p strikeouts?

Hey guys, I'm noticing I'm striking out like crazy lately . Averaging like 7 - 10 per game, currently worst in the league for strikeouts. I play on forced 1080p , do u think that can impact the reaction time I have to the ball coming in? Has anyone noticed a difference from playing 720 ? Do u strike out less because there is less delay/ frame rate drop ?

I know this has been discussed before here, but does your TV have a "Game Mode"? That may help you...I have never really played at "forced 1080p" because, frankly, I don't know what that means. But, I do remember many people finding success once they set their TVs in Game Mode.

What if your TV doesn't have a game mode? Anybody have any suggestionis on how to manually change the settings to be close?

I would suggest you turn off any extra processing the TV is doing to the picture. Options like Digital Noise Reduction, Edge Enhancement, etc...

Turning off anything extra that taxes the tv's cpu could probably help at least a little bit. It really just depends on the TV. You're going to lose something in picture quality, but you might improve delay/response time.

Digital Noise Reduction, Edge Enchancment... LOL I doubt my TV has any of those features, but I will check when I get home. Or maybe I need to buy a new TV!?!? (Trying to find an excuse to buy a new one for a year now! Let's see what the misses says!)

Re: 1080p strikeouts?

My Vizio 1080p is definitely NOT an AVS forums gaming top-pick!

It has a game mode, but even then, I HAVE to drop pitch speed. Doing these two things has pretty much alleviated any issues I've had with response time.

Re: 1080p strikeouts?

I've had more problems this year striking out than ever. Before last years Show I got a new tv but had no issues with striking out. This year i am striking out at an absurd pace. So I think the difference is the game not the tv so much. I would guess that in real life 1000 k's would lead the majors....I'm just on June 7th in my season and have 640 k's so I'm on pace for over 1500. So something for me has changed from last year to this year.

Man you are back in the Deadball Era! I really don't know what to tell you because I don't have the same problem on my little 23" Samsung SyncMaster 2333 HDTV. It doesn't have Game Mode because being small it doesn't need one. Sometimes size doesn't help
