Hitting my Spots and getting K's with the Curveball

Fellas:

Been a loyal player since 08 and I find that I still have problems hitting my spots and getting strikeouts with breaking balls especially the curve ball.

Can anyone help me out with some ideas as to the ideal (at least in theory) ratio of power to location?

Thanks for the help.

Re: Hitting my Spots and getting K's with the Curveball

I think the secret is establishing it for strikes with out getting the CPU to swing at it. Its seems the CPU will not swing at a low curveball outside the strike zone unless its established for a strike earlier in the count. The problem is if a curveball is in the zone early in the count the CPU seems to always want to swing at it.

If you use full power on a curveball and are throwing it low in the zone you have a better chance of hanging it so back off on the power but if that doesn’t work try full power.

Basically in the game the curveball doesn’t seem to be an effective strikeout pitch compared to the fastball.

I don't have the success with 12CV low that they seem to have on me. My success with swing and miss curveballs have been either tying them up inside with it or getting it called for strike three on the backdoor if the ump is feeling saucy and calling a bit off the corner.
