Power Swing

I know everybody will say use the power swing in hitters' counts and such, but I was just curious how often you guys are using it, even in hitters' counts. I almost never use it, as I get a lot of homeruns from the regular swing. Do you guys get a lot of homers using that swing, and do they go farther? I'm just curious, thanks guys!

Re: Power Swing

2-0, 3-0, 3-1.

And I only swing if it looks to be dead center. But I don't get homeruns from it. Nevver have hit a homerun with a power swing. Also just a screaming liner.

All my homeruns are from changeups or curves left up.

2-0, 3-0, 3-1. Yes I have had some home runs while power swinging, but I haven't noticed that they go farther. I do notice that every time I have hit a homerun with the power swing (that I can recall) the HR camera comes on.

Re: Power Swing

I was using it from time to time in my RTTS, but it never seemed to make much difference (except batting practice). I don't use it anymore, and I'm middle of the pack in HRs in my Indians franchise, so I think you get plenty enough HRs with just regular swings.

Re: Power Swing

My breakdown is probably something like:

60% normal
30% contact
10% power

Re: Power Swing

I use it when I guess the pitch correctly and it is somewhere near the middle of my PCI. Because if the pitch is going somewhere else, and you power swing, you may end up grounding out or popping up. For example, you guess inside. It's correct but the pitch will land up and in while the PCI is automatically shifted to the left (righty). If you power swing, the PCI gets smaller, and you will end up popping it up.

Use it on 2-1 and 3-1 if it is over the plate. I use it probably 70% of the time, cautiously with poor hitters so I am not flailing and not making any contact at all.

Re: Power Swing

I was using it but I see enough HR's from the regular swing to not use power anymore. There might be a rare occasion I use it. 2-0 count 2 men on down by 8 and Andruw Jones at the plate and I just want to go for it all. lol
