Cutting the ball.

I really hope that I'm missing something here. Is there a way to cut the ball off once it is thrown? If not that's really silly. As most of us know from playing baseball you throw the ball as best you can on a line towards the base. If the ball's not going to make it, you cut it. Obviously there are times when a cut is going to have to happen, but many times I'd like to cut the ball after it is thrown.

There has never been a way to cutoff the ball after you've thrown it.

Instead of changing hr. derby and crap like that they should spend a little time to add something useful.

For as much as this game does that's good, this is surprising. This needs to be addressed. MVP 2005 had this.

I thought 09' could/would do this, but must be mistaken. I switched from 2K series that year and that must have been the one in 09' to be able to do this. Wow, something that is better than The Show...nah, not worth switching back.

Yeah I remember MVP 2005 had this as a feature. You just tapped L1 after the throw if you realized it needed to be cut off. I'm shocked The Show doesn't and has not had this feature. Really needs to be in next year.

You should edit the title of the thread so maybe it will get more views, kind of an odd title.

They will have to re-animate all of the OF throwing sequences then. So many of those throws wouldn't be able to be cut off. I would love to have this in the game though. Much more accurate to real life.

Re: Cutting the ball.

This option definitely needs to be added. In a real game most often a cut call isn't even made until the ball is in the air and the player quickly makes a judgment call seeing the play develop in front of him.

It's not the thrower of the ball who make the call, his only job is to throw it at the cutoff guy. Stating the obvious of course, but it would add something to the game for sure.
Good post OP.

edit add: it would bring an additional dimension to the fielding practice as well, making judgment calls in calling for a "cut" or not. hmmmm...

Re: Cutting the ball.

.....and how about the fielder who's base the ball is intended for yells the cut out? Like the catcher yelling "CUT TWO!!!"
