I agree. But the weight is for the future.

When healthy.

That's the key point, Reyes hasn't been healthy the past two seasons. If he had been, there wouldn't be a debate because the ratings would reflect, but the reality is that he's been banged up and as a result his ratings will take a hit in durability to reflect that as well as a slight drop in discipline due to the reduced number of walks and power. Meanwhile, Andrus and Alexei have played more than Reyes and common logic indicates that both players would improve at least slightly.

If Reyes had stayed healthy, he'd be up there with Hanley and Tulowitzki and instead of arguing between him, Andrus, and Alexei, it'd be him Hanley and Tulowitzki.

Re: Previews of Top 10 at each position?

Reyes has definitly been hindered by injuries and what not for a few years...so yes he has declined "ratings" wise in this game..since it looks at the last 3 years..I guess its hard to compare guys at different stages in their careers and different styles...but Reyes before his injuries had a UZR rating 11.7 which is higher than Ramirez one good year of UZR of 10.8 ramirez rightly or wrongly has had 20 errors the past 2 years..reyes has never had 20 errors..(but that stat is so subjective, as most stats are because they only calculate what you want them to...want a different answer ad a different calculation or another stat to the equation) Jose reyes was a 6.0 WAR rating in 2008 and dropped to .9 in 2009 and steadily increased back to 2.8 by 2010
ramirez was .9, 2.2 and now is a 3.8 so same time frame looks like reyes is on his way back..fairly comparable just 1 year difference..but reyes was hurt ramirez wasnt...reyes is a solid top of the order hitter..ramirez spent more time at the bottom of the lineup where traditionally they come at ya a little different...Im gonna go with a healthy reyes over ramirez...ramirez is so skinny and fragile looking id be surprised if he stays health his whole career..unless no one ever touches him

Definitely. I just searched for the old threads and it is indeed a top 5 for each position. I adjust my 90 out of 110 to 45 out of 55.

We had a whole brouhaha last year when Reyes was listed ahead of Ramirez when both had the same overall rating in MLB 10' The Show.

That is true. People say the same thing with Tony Gwynn.
