How this game has changed my life

First a lil history.

Growing up as a kid baseball was my favorite sport. The history of it.Players being drafted to the war,Babe Ruth's record being broken to have an * beside it.I just loved Baseball.

When I got old enough to play I sucked.Couldnt throw a baseball to save the world.Picked up a football and could throw it 60 yards easy and hit a guy in the open.So naturally I started liking Football a tad better.

Video Games:Madden ,Joe Montana Football.Loved em.Helped me get smarter with Football.Loved Football even better because of the games.
PS2 with Madden made me one of the biggest Fooball fans ever!
I even named my son Dallas after the Dallas Cowboys.
PS3 and the Madden series has just drained the life out of me.It opened my eyes to other games though.Sports games was the only kind of games I played. But since Madden took a fall I started playing games like God of War,Infamous,Killzone,GTA,Red Dead,Moder Warfare. But I'm a sports guy.

Baseball in the late 90's and 2000's: The word Steroids should just sum up everything.I loved baseball even while I played Football and let that sport run my life as far as naming my son Dallas. But when all the steroid news came out it just made me turn my head every time I heard the name of the sport.

Enter OperationSports.Came here as a HUGE Madden fan waiting and hoping for each installment to have the kind of Franchise I was used to playing on the PS2 to have my hopes fall apart each year .Even though 10's Franchise was the best of all on this generation it was still just lacking. So for some odd reason I start looking on other forums here besides the Madden forums.SCEA MLB catches the eye. With the main steroid boys retired I figured why not read into this game. Its always getting good reviews.GameInformer even gave it a 9.5!

So after about 2 weeks with this game I can barely stand up every day at work because I stay up half the night playing it.I am totally hooked! This game has drawn me back to the sport of Baseball and I am loving every minute of it.I even look for game highlights on ESPN every morning.

Sorry if this thread has no use.I just had to get it off my chest that I am a baseball fan again because of this game.Thank you SCEA!

Re: How this game has changed my life

Glad you are enjoying the game. It certainly is addicting. I would say that this series is a big reason why I have gotten back into really following baseball again. My TV is pretty much glued to the MLB Network now.

Re: How this game has changed my life

always been a baseball guy.... but this game has affirmated all I've ever FELT about this sport.

Being Canadian, I have the Blue Jays of the early 90's to really go back to the start off my appreciation of the sport. Sure, I knew nothing about the science, but I was keen to learn...

As I grew older I learned to love all of baseball... the legends and the history of the game. Then came along the Show series and it drew me in, closer than I've ever been. If it wasn't for the " trailblazers " like " Ken Griffey Baseball, the Hardball series and of course RBI baseball (where my only videogame no-no occured lol) not to mention the PC series like Earl Weaver and Front Page Sports Baseball....

I love this game.... I'm a father of one and happily married and I've started to reconsider 2 kids for it might take time away from this game it's got me sooo bad
