Really Starting to Struggle with this Game..

Ok...i am really starting to struggle bad with this game. I have started a franchise with the Yankees, and i am 0-6...Rodriguez, and Texeira are bating under 200....I'm starting to really get impatient at the plate. I wasn't like this 2 days ago, but all of a sudden i am...Is there any advice you can give me on this? I am also struggling with pitching with the Yankees Pitchers...

Can anyone tell me if they see way to many ground balls hit very soft that the fielders miss.....they just go under there glove? Would reaction time cure this problem? I am starting to get really frustrated!! Any help with these problems would be greatly appreciated.

Oh no, the dreaded slump. Just like in real life, players tend to fall into slumps in this game. And the worst part is, it's entirely mental. Once your confidence is shaken, you fall into bad habits and it's really hard to get out of them.

My best advice is, take a day or two off. Bench yourself. Step away from the game. Go play an older baseball game you enjoy to tide you over and remind yourself of certain certainties... such as, even with the best hitter you're going to fail a lot, as per real life... a pitch down the middle doesn't equal a guaranteed hit... and so on. Then come back to it with a refreshed outlook and realistic expectations.

Also, I'd say don't try to raise the average of your players, it'll have the reverse effect. Try to draw out the at bat as long as you can, taking the walk if possible, and just try to wear down the pitchers. Then suddenly you'll be getting some hits with those same players.

I've gotten into some pretty horrendous slumps, and it's always very frustrating. But I've been on fire lately. I beat the Yankees with the Twins 15-6 the other night.

I will totally agree with you, with my RTTS guy I get a great hitting streak going and within a couple of hours of playing I will definitely get a hitters slump going. If I walk away from the game and come back a couple days later I'll start hitting normal again. Really weird.

if you are slumping, then work on your OBP, try to walk as much as possible. wear down the opposite pitcher's confidence and then take him deep.
