In game options, Quick play vs Full play?

I just noticed that somehow i had "quick play" enabled in the game options under "cpu". Now i read the description for it but i never really felt like i was playing any kind of quick mode other than the fact i have everything set to speed up gameplay. Such as "fast play" under presentations and pitch delay set to "faster".

Anyone happen to know if this "quick play" "full play" option actually does anything?

It's supposed to have lower pitch counts, fewer fouls, and some other differences. It also overrides sliders, so you may not be getting the same results out of a slider set that others are. I'd put it on full if you want the entire experience - the game is tailored more toward the casual "pick up and play" gamer on quick.

It's definitely different from fast play, which only disables presentation but leaves the gameplay mechanics intact.

Re: In game options, Quick play vs Full play?

I'm glad to see I'm not the only person confused. I keep trying to figure out what I need to do to get the game to play the full real-time presentation.

I set the presentation option to Real-time but I still see lots of cuts and warping of players as I play the game.

I thought these were supposed to be all gone with the Real-Time presentation option set.

Am I missing something?

I believe Real-time presentation is designed to feel like you are "at the ballpark", where you tend to focus on the player just involved in the action. Broadcast is more like you are watching on TV. Neither changes the between pitch pace or speed of your game play.

You can use "fast play" to speed up the game. It doesn't mess with your sliders, # of foul balls, etc. It eliminates cut scenes, replays, batter walk-up etc. It allows you to play your game faster. I'm using this and starting to like it. I'm a family man, so time is of the essence when I get a turn on the PS3.

ahhh....I guess I misunderstood their marketing info and the dev interviews. I thought they said that on this setting there would no longer be any cut scenes which I thought might be cool.

There are definitely cut scenes in the game, especially when you make substitutions for hitters, pitchers, or base runners. I was hoping to see the manager walk out to the mound on ptiching subs and take the ball and wait for the reliever to run up to the mound and hand off the ball.

maybe next year.
