Do Results Count For Anything in RTTS???

I'm very confused by RTTS. In my 5th year I was made Starting Shortstop for the last-place Orioles in late May. I proceeded to hit .360 with 18 HRs, 80 RBIs, and won the Gold Glove Award. I also hit all my Goals for the season.

So what happens at the end of the season? I'm claimed on Waivers by the Royals.

How does this happen? What last-place team in their right mind puts a player with my stats through waivers? Pro-Rated over the season, you're talking about a Gold Glove shortstop with a .360 avg, 25 HRs and 120 RBIs. Those are MVP type numbers.

Does RTTS only make these moves based on your player quality rankings? Mine are not great and I've found it near impossible to add to them. Even with the season I had, I'm only up to the low 50s for power and contact and high 30s for Speed and low 40s for fielding.

How are people juicing their number rankings? I was used only as a PH for 3 Spring Trainings running, so wasn't able to do it their. Admittedly, I've become a much better hitter the last season, but was still usually around .300 with modest power.

What am I missing here and how do I help myself?

It's all about your ratings, not your performance. Your performance can help you on the Interactions screen with the manager during the season, but that's about it. SCEA really needs to work on the RTTS logic when it comes to finding a nice mix between performance and ratings. I think performance should be way more important, but that is clearly not the case. This is why I quit play The Show already this year, it is too frustrating to play what should be an awesome mode.

I've had the exact same experience, and I'm close to throwing in the towel on RTTS. I've been called up numerous times but can never stick, no matter that I was hitting over .400 for the last month the last time I was up. I'm now 24, have about a .315 avg over parts of 3 MLB seasons, and great stats in the minors, and where do I land after ST? Backup 3B in AA.

You have GOT to be kidding me. This is just ridiculous.

That mirrors my experience very closely. If it's any consolation, in my 5th year was when the Orioles claimed me as a Rule V pick and I started at SS for 4 months of the year. I'm apparently starting for the Royals now.

But the fact that your ratings apparently are everything and I can't figure out how to really up them in a meaningful way (I've read about people in the 70s and 90s and wish I knew how they did it), really adds to my frustration.

Can anyone at SCEA help us out here with some advice or improvements for next year?

Thanks!

Yes, it is all about attributes.

Re: Do Results Count For Anything in RTTS???

The only time I've had a problem with promotions/demotions was after my first year in the major leagues. There was a bug in the contract interaction. They offered me a major league contract to be a minor league player. This was obviously a bug because not only was I sent back to AAA but I was made a backup as well.

Outside of that, all my promotions/demotions were almost too predictable and based entirely on goals. I agree that stats should be a much larger portion of this decision logic.
