CPU Trades in Franchise

I am in the middle of June in my 'chise with the Oakland A's. I thought I would start this thread to see what trades cpu has made in other player's franchises. Here are the trades that have happened so far:

Brewers trade C Jason Kendall to the Rays for RP Dewayne Gatlin
Brewers trade RP Dewayne Gatlin to the Mets for RF Ryan Church
Angels trade RP Scot Shields (thank god, I hate facing him) for 1B Jorge Cantu
Brewers trade 3B Bill Hall and RP Dorsey Hope to the Orioles for 2B Brian Roberts and RP Jim Johnson

That kind of 3 way with the Brewers/Rays/Mets is cool

Re: CPU Trades in Franchise

I remember I started a thread like this a few weeks back. I absolutley dislike the trade logic of the CPU. Here is what I remember seeing:
  • Mark Ellis and a AA Catcher for SP Cole Hamels
  • Scott Shields, Brian Fuentes, and a AA player for Tim Lincecum.
I don't understand why so many big names are on the trading block. I hope they put restrictions next year (besides roster control). For example, the CPU not trading an A potential guy (25 or younger) or any player who is top 5-10 on their 25 man roster. Just an opinion of course

I would love for them to up the trade frequency, and add an option like this next year.

Re: CPU Trades in Franchise

That is a great idea. To the cpu, the names mean nothing. Every player is just some conglomeration of algorithms. It would be cool if they could tag certain players as more difficult to trade. Make the top 5 guys much harder to trade or put like a franchise player tag on one guy per team that is really difficult to trade. Not impossible of course, hence the Swisher trade from Oakland even after Beane said anyone not named Swisher might be traded lol. That being said, I can't seem to trade for Carlos Pena still, even though he is slumping big time for the Rays.

I'm in my first season in my franchise and I just got my first trade offered to me by the Twins. They wanted Carlos Guillen and in return they would give me R.A. Dickey ... ...I declined.

Re: CPU Trades in Franchise

I simmed a season yesterday after doing a fantasy draft and I saw two instances where teams made a trade and on the same day they traded the players back to each other. I don't remember the players involved, but both times it was "Orioles acquire Player X from Mariners for Player Y" immediately followed by "Orioles acquires Player Y from Mariners for Player X."

Those aren't the correct teams, but you get the idea. I saw this twice in the span of about a week, I think in late June.

Re: CPU Trades in Franchise

In one of my RTTS's I asked to be traded because I was in an organization with too much competition at my position. They obliged and I was shipped, I played one game with my new squad and was then traded back to be a bench player again on my same team. What's up with that?
