For alot of us, we arent using SCEA rosters, so to tie the replay/flashback/crash fix into that would be shortsighted and a bad move on their end.
I share those concerns. It would be a shame if it was directly tied to the roster update itself (and not just snuck in via the update).

I won't be using their roster update either. BUT, if it's a fix they sneak in through that update, it should be good for other rosters if it's not directly tied to the roster file itself, I would think (Kinda like a virus...more than you bargained for...lol).

Of course, all this is more speculation on our part...lol...which is why I'm hoping an update from Russell is soon to come. That way, for better or worse, I can move on.

Sox,

I am with you. I am dying to start a franchise. I don't know if I should delete everything from my HDD, then download the patch and get going with it. Or are we supposed to continue to wait this thing out to see what happens? I am going nuts!

I agree.

I appreciate that Russell comes on here, as he doesn't have to...but this whole secrecy is a bit much.

I mean, it's a video game, not a case of national security. If he doesn't know the answer...fine, say so, or say that things are being discussed and SCEA will know on or around so-and-so date.

Instead we get cryptic answers which I think is a bit weak, IMO.

Is there a list anywhere of what is wrong with this patch that was just released?

Is it confirmed that highlights do not work? I believe I have read that some have been able to see them and others havent?
The highlights not working is one of the issues. Some games they work and some games they don't. The other issue is with the franchise just crashing on a certain date on the schedule.

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here

Guys having replay problems, if you are inclined, try loading my Cubs franchise and see if you have problems still. I suspect it still will, but I have absolutely no problems at all with this franchise save. Career stat glitch is not here either and lineups were reworked after spring training for my workaround.
Replays work fine, no freezes etc.

Just unzip it and place it on your USB drive (its in the PS3 folder already) then copy it over to your PS3. There is a roster file based on SCEA 4/27 and a Cubs franchise file with cpu roster control on and force trades on.
I'm just curious if you will still have replay problems even though I don't (I suspect you still will because I don't think its the franchise save that is the problem, but lets rule out some things).

Don't load anything into the franchise like sliders or settings or profile until you try it out as it is.

Thanks.

Here it is:

Side Note: Guru, if you want a Cubs franchise to play (or a roster file) (with until Knight is done with his stock pitchers rosters) with stock players (except Micah Hoffpauer edited for obvious reasons), pitchers, and AAA Cubs faces and names, batting or pitching L or R, & biographical info (attributes not edited yet at all except some added defensive positions on some AAA guys) this is the one for you. No other teams minors are done however. All Cubs helmets are changed to old and some apparel on guys (from the Cubs roster thread). No hidden stances were taken out either. If a guy had a stance with his name in it, I did not change it except Fontenot. Career stat glitch in not in here either.

Red face Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here

Update: As i stated earlier i had deleted my game and all saves, after i downloaded the game into my HDD and the new patch it was going well. I was able to view replays (post-game) and highlites (automatic highlites after the game), from the replay vault, or any part of the game until last nite. No highlites and no replays in Replay Vault. I'm also using the new roster 04/27 from SCEA.

Not a game killer at all for me though. It is still the best representation of baseball i have ever experience.

I totally understand what you're saying, but he has to be careful about what he says to protect his own job and to stay out of trouble.
