Only hitting .125 in spring training with the Twins. Veteran difficulty. I stink.

I went on a tear recently (Veteran, started on All Star the previous season and just was plain terrible) and got my average up to .300 with a 12 game hitting streak and then my manager screwed me over pinch hitting me in the following game after being a HR shy of the cycle. I pinch hit in the 8th inning and we were winning 8-0 and I grounded out to end the streak. I then went in an 0-9 slump after that and finally bounced back a bit and am hitting .290 I think. I have around 150 ABs and have hit 7 2Bs, 1 3B, and 2 HRs with 22 RBI playing 2nd Base.

I only got 28 ABs my first season since I tore my MCL and missed the rest of the year. I don't slide head first anymore into 1B!

I am batting .275, 4 HR, 27 RBI, 9 D, 4 SB in AA on Veteran difficulty level at the All star break. I started out horrible slumping way down to .170 but I have battled back up to .275.

I stopped using guess pitch and location and just started focusing on the ball and trying to get favorable pitch counts. My walks are still low, but I am making the pitcher throw more balls. I am also paying attention to the pitchers total pitch count as well as strikes and balls. If there is a high strike to ball count I will usually swing 1st or 2nd pitch. If the count is about equal I will work the count and wait for the a good pitch.

Not too far into my 1st year of spring training with the Pirates. 18 AB with 9 hits for a .500 BA. 4 RBI No runs 2 Doubles 1 SB 3 CS 4 Strike outs and 1 BB.

HoF - Default

I'm having a real hard time getting to home plate once I get on base. Of course almost a third of the time I've been on base I've gotten caught stealing so.....

Thank you for the great line at the end of your post. I am sitting here at work pissed at everyone (I work in I.T.) and this made me smile. I have thought similar thoughts. Your last line actually made me laugh out loud.
