API...Yay or Nay?

Do you use it? Do you think its realistic or do you think its a handicap/aid?

I've been debating in my mind whether or not I want to use API this year. I kinda like it because in real life the catcher will make suggestions and its up to the pitcher to agree or disagree....I think it represents that fairly well.

I know the catcher doesn't have any hidden knowledge, and I know his suggestion may not always be the best option, but for some reason I still feel a little cheap using it sometimes.

I wish they would make a rating so certain catchers would call a better game than others. That would really be cool.

Yay.

You can always throw a different pitch to a different location if you don't trust the catcher's decision.

I do all the time. Make's it that much more realistic honestly.

Nay. I like to decide what to throw and where.

But see thats the thing though...you can still do that but the catcher is just offering a suggestion just like he would in real life.

I leave it on and pretend I'm Nuke Lalouche, shaking off Crash and announcing my presence with authority.

Re: API...Yay or Nay?

Something else I would like to note...I seem to walk more hitters with this on as well, because when I have three balls on a hitter I am usually real conservative and just sling one over the heart of the plate. But with API on, sometimes the catcher will call for something on the corner and I'll go for it, end up missing, and walk the batter.

Re: API...Yay or Nay?

Nay, but I do follow the catchers signs most of the time (or at least the pitch)
