I don't know if this has been mentioned (I haven't seen it if it was), but our very own Matt Vasgersian is one of the main "anchors" of the new MLB Network. If you don't know about it, this is a new television channel that started up on January 1st of this year that covers nothing but baseball 24/7. I believe most cable & satellite providers are carrying it (I get it on Time Warner in NY). I've been watching this channel a lot lately and I am really enjoying their off-season/spring training coverage.

Matt is behind the desk every day accompanied by other other broadcasters & former players. At first I couldn't figure out where I knew him from, then I realized that it was his voice that I recognized not his face (I've never actually seen him before, but I sure have spent many hours listening to him while playing The Show). Apparently he left his gig with the Padres to take this job. Just thought some of you fellow "Show buffs" might be interested, although I'll warn you that whenever I see a segment with Matt it just makes me more eager to start playing the Show '09.

Yeah. Us padre fans were sad to see him go. He was great. He also did some work for the olympics and does football on fox too now. And he does poker! Now were calling up a guy from the minors LOL. He's made it to the show.

And I agree... The baseball network is awesome.

MLB Network is great. I didn't notice Matt, though. Been busy watching the classic games replays!
Like Nolan Ryan's 7th no-hitter...........Ryne Sandberg's game tying, then game winning Homerun..........etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

You should check out the 30/30 - They're filming 30 teams in 30 days, giving us fans all sorts of detailed information about each team and where they stand for the 2009 season!

I just can't wait till they convert their show over to HD.... assuming in the next month or so, I hope.

Yeah MLB Network has been getting major play on my TV since January. It's quickly become my favorite channel... (LOL, my wife says Im a baseball fiend)

Matt V. is good on MLB Network, along with Harold Reynolds and Barry Larkin. I have to admit that the classic games (saw "hard-hitten" Mark Whiten's 4-homer, 12 RBI game in Cincy) are like crack. Add 30-in-30, Hot Stove (saw Cecil Fielder on there last week) and the baseball documentaries, its like a baseball utopia LOL.

They should use MLB The Show as their virtual illustrator, like FOX does with Madden. There you go SCEA guys, make it happen, no charge for the suggestion
