The biggest improvement to the game comes from MLB 09’s native 1080p support. The game runs at an uncompromised 1920×1080 native resolution with no AA. In this respect, it’s identical to the ‘08 game, but the key difference is that unlike the last game, MLB ‘09 displays a full 60 frames per second on the 1080p setting vs the 30fps of its predecessor. The ‘08 1080p mode had few other losses on visual effects such as depth of field, which is retained and improved in both 720p and 1080p modes on the new game.

Interesting find.

Personally I set my 09 demo to 1080p and did not notice any slowdown like many experienced when pushing 08 to 1080p.

I'm glad to hear it's something that was worked on.



PS. And those comparison shots... they really show the amazing graphical jump from an already beautiful game in 08 to 09.

That 1080p shot from the demo is MUCH blurrier than the 720p shot, I am stand by when I say it is upscaling a lower res, and NOT true 1080p frame buffer '08 has. At least in the demo.

You can clearly see the difference in texture quality, etc... it looks like an upscaled lower resolution. Even compared to the '08 shot. Not to mention the 720 shot of '09 looking more "crisp".

And if the demo does have 1080p true buffer in it, somehow that site and a few on here can not get it to register, it is just upscaling.
