All-Star Sliders (Zone/Meter)

Hey all,
I've been playing MLB 10 The Show for the past 2 years and this is my first upgrade. Boy, am I glad I did! I am posting my sliders below and testing is in its infancy (one game to be exact) but these are a carryover from MLB 10. As far as the pulse pitching, I'm not a fan yet and may never be. The meter really works the same way IMO and the analog stuff is too much of a stretch for this 40-something gamer. I also feel zone hitting is the way to go as it presents some added difficulty. Still tweaking and suggestions are welcome. I lost 4-3 with the Red Sox to the Yankees in my first game. I was outhit 9-7 and each pitcher (Lester and Sabathia) tossed 100 pitches by the end of the 6th inning. The cpu had 66% strikes and I logged 64%. I walked 4 batters and should have drawn 3 walks but swung at a few ball 4 pitches. I hit the only dinger, a 2 run job by my favorite Red Sox Dustin Pedroia. Anyway more results later and here they are. BTW the sliders with the asterisks are the ones I am focusing on at this time. Enjoy!

Well, it was a pitching duel as you can see but I was very happy with the results. Good variety of hard hit balls, choppers, bloopers and such. Forgot to report % of strikes but I do know Lester had 37 pitches after 3 innings and Baker was slightly lower so pitch counts would be realistic over a full game. I'm playing ST so I want to get a look at the entire staff before the OSFM rosters drop. I am really watching the timing and contact slider for the cpu. As my hitting improves, I think they will be increased by one. Also changed throwing meter OFF (in red above) to rely on fielding skills only. Having lots of fun creating highlights as well

Another spring win for me Check out pitch counts and strike %. Another good mixture of hits. I may soon bump up the cpu power a notch as they haven't hit a homer yet in three games. I don't wait as long to change my sliders as I feel I have a good handle on how these play out from experience.

Re: All-Star Sliders (Zone/Meter)

Some major changes in red on first post. I was painting too easily so I dropped Human control and consistency. To offset the high % of cpu strikes, I dropped that by 1. Cpu has yet to homer off me so I bumped up cpu power by one and increased contact and timing. Remains to be seen if this cpu batting improvement will stay as I have a feeling more hits will be coming as I drop the human control in the pitching dept. Neither the cpu or I have had double digit hits yet. I also backed off on the human power by one.

*Note - Just realized I had a typo for Human and cpu pitching stamina. It should have been 5 all along. Sorry!

OK I think I finally hit my stride with the sliders. Played this game with the changes in red on the first post. Decreased the cpu pitch control to create more BB chances and had 3 this game. The cpu hit the ball more solidly as I anticipated by lowering human pitch control values. I kept timing and contact at three instead of moving them to 4 for the cpu and that was the right move for now as the cpu had 12 hits. First time double digits in hits was reached and still no homers off me in 5 games. I dropped human power and the difference was noticeable and appropriate. My first loss but heading toward more even gameplay. After about another half dozen games I should have these locked down. Great fun

Re: All-Star Sliders (Zone/Meter)

Hey man, thanks for doing these. Been looking for a Zone/Meter All-Star set (I'm using Pulse but it seems pretty much identical). Going to give them a run tomorrow in my spring training games and see how it goes. Looking at your results, I'm hoping for some good games
