Re: 2012 OSFM: Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles have a pretty thin farm system, and all of their top talent is in the lower minor leagues.

I agree with your ratings for Machado, and Bundy. Schoop might be worthy of an A potential, too. He's the 2nd highest 2B prospect in the majors according to MLB.com and he really came on strong last year winning the Orioles minor league player of the year.

If I were in charge these are the ratings I'd attribute.
Xavier Avery: B potential, speed, little power, pure athlete.

LJ Hoes: B potential Same deal

Ryan Flahrety: C potential, Rule 5 from Cubs. He's a pure hitter with no real defensive position. I'd go with D overall C potential.

Matt Antonelli: If he's not in the game, I'd give him a D overall with C pot

Joseph Mahoney: C potential, huge 1B with some pop. Likely AAA starter at 1B.

Oliver Drake: B- or C+ potential, added to 40man to protect him from the rule 5 after putting up impressive numbers between AA and AAA.

Brian Ward: C potential. high defense ratings, threw out over 50% of base stealers in the minors. He has been raising eyebrows around the organization.

Bobby Bundy: B or C+ potential. Dominant in A ball. Had a rough beginning to AA crediting to high AA numbers, but finished the year strong at AA showing improvement.

Delmonico/Esposito: Probably worthy of B potentials, but they are in low A and rookie leagues.

Dan Klein: B potential, put up great numbers at AA before injury. Not sure yet if he's a starter or reliever, he's been doing both.

Parker Bridwell: B or high C potential, another lower levels pitcher.

Glynn Davis: Fastest player in the system, no more than a C potential.

Another pitcher you did not have on your list was Timothy Bascom. Bascom was the Orioles minor league pitcher of the year. Though a little old for AA, he put up great numbers and is likely to start the year at AAA with the potential of landing on the 40 man if he continues his steady improvement. Worthy of a C potential I'd say.

Lineups:

I agree overall with your line up and pitching rotation. Nolan Reimold will likely be starting in LF over Chavez. Tommy Hunter has one of the best shots to make the opening day rotation; I'd include him over Wada. Wada will likely end up in the bullpen, and I'd remove Alfredo Simon from the active roster.
Also, Brian Roberts is still a long ways away from recovery. Robert Andino will likely be the starting 2B with Roberts on the DL, and I would see someone like Antonelli or out-of-options Jai Miller make the team on the open roster spot. Hope this helps some.

Re: 2012 OSFM: Baltimore Orioles

1B Aaron Baker C Potential
Orioles' #14 overall prospect Baseball America
AA this year? (Bowie BaySox)

OF Roderick Bernadina C Potential
O's #22 overall prospect Baseball America
though he'll probably start in Low A this year, I'd create him & put him on the High A team (Frederick Keys)

OF Trent Mummey C Potential
O's #27 overall prospect Baseball America
High A (Frederick Keys)

3B Brandon Waring C Potential
O's #25 overall prospect Baseball America
AA (Bowie BaySox)

Re: 2012 OSFM: Baltimore Orioles

Thanks guys for the responses so far. I will edit the original post to reflect them. As for the lineup, it came from a website that seems to be pretty far off on their lineups, but is the most comprehensive I have found so far in regards to positioning, 40 man lineup, and ease of copying and pasting. In other words, take it with a grain of salt. Keep em coming folks.

Re: 2012 OSFM: Baltimore Orioles

Here is a little of my ideas for the Orioles prospect potental

3B Nick Delmonico - B+
To me he seems more of a high B+ prospect from what people seem to talk about him.
3B Jason Esposito - B-
A mid B to B- prospect with potential to be a starting/utility 3rd baseman. Average defender and average bat. Can hold down the position.
OF Xavier Avery - B
Mid B, but depends on how well he plays and where he plays. I believe he could be a starter in the future if he picks up his bat speed. Above average speed and glove.
RHP Parker Bridwell - B-
Low B, has a high ceiling but has been lit up so far in the minors leagues. If his ERA doesn't lower in a full season I would expect it to be more of a C. I still believe he is over hyped right now.
OF Glynn Davis - B
After showing that he can bat with good average over Rookie and A- he should be at A+. He absolutely destroyed Rookie ball and played fairly well at A-. His speed is a definite factor and I expect him to get better.
RHP Robert Bundy - B
Another one of the Bundy brothers. I expect him to start in AA this year in the rotation due to a great year at A+ Despite being a little older I expect him to move on well as a starter. Expect him to be in AAA by the end of the year if he does well again.
RHP Dan Klein - C+
Another Tommy Gunner, had a great year at Bowie before getting hurt. I would have him as a B+ closer but after getting hurt I dropped him because of the injury. If he comes back with the same stuff and dominance I would have him as the Orioles future closer.
C Gabriel Lino - B
Not much known about him but seems to have a good bat. Very young and high ceiling if he progresses on well.

2B Ryan Adams - B+
I believe this man deserves more credit in his first year in the big leagues. He really picked up his bat and glove and showed that he can play well. I believe he deserves this rating if he can play well and I believe he can be a starting 2nd baseman.
