Re: OSFM 2010 OVERHAUL is complete!

You would have to look at the highest ranges in the league. You can google pitch F/X and certain terms like best curveball to get figures for some of that. Someone like Zito, even though not as good, still drops past 16 vertically and there are guys at about 12 horizontally. Because Zito didn't quite have the horizontal distance, but close, I decided to go with a curveball for him. So it depends on your curve.

Your stats you gave me would allude to somewhere in the 35 to 40 range for break for a curve or maybe a 65 for slurve. I would have to look at it. He would be assigned a normal curveball or even perhaps a slurve or knucklecurve if that is what he throws in real life. Those stats are kind of in between so any of those could work but you have to remember curves are generally in the 8 and above range vertically otherwise you are getting into slurve territory imo. You have to remember where he releases it from and where it ends up. As far as control you absolutely MUST look at their ERA! This is one of my big points. This is what determines much of their control and then you would look at the stats that Texas leaguers gives for strike, ball, whiff, etc. and combine these into your final numbers. A guy like Liriano almost throws 70% strikes with his slurve or slider and it is one of his main pitches. I gave him a slurve because his pitch drops 6 and only swings 1.5 over genrally. He has less control with his other pitches.

If they are only throwing 50% strikes with the pitch is USUALLY means they should have low control over it. Nobody really has pristine perfect control over a high sweeping curve unless their ERA is somewhere around 2 and they throw the pitch A LOT. A lot of things go into determining these things from the strike ball stats. You must use your own judgment. Generally curves are thrown in the 50 to 75 control range with only the best players above that and even then they must throw the pitch as a main pitch. Curves are not easy to throw consistently. There is basically no one in the 90s on these rosters for sweeping curves that I personally got to. Maybe a slurve in the 90s if they are very efficient with it or I missed them. You have to understand that I tried to do the pitches as best I could throughout the league. There were a TON of guys that were completely off. I did not have time to use TL for each and every guy. If I saw their ERA at 5 they got nerfed.

Re: OSFM 2010 OVERHAUL is complete!

I made a change in words for the running fastball two seam debate. Really, it is personal preference. I used running for guys with 7+ inch vertically that threw to their pitching hand while reserving two seams for the guys that definitely threw lower than the other ones so I could better nail down their horizontal movement with proper break on the entire pitch. In reality, there are no rising fastballs but to the batter they appear that way. I guess it is all personal preference. I might look more in depth about this for the opening day rosters.

Cool Re: OSFM 2010 OVERHAUL is complete!

Hey bro, great work... I may not agree with all the attributes... but I see why you set them where you did. You even got it done before your personal Dec 10th deadline... I am starting my franchise with these rosters and like I said, great work. Thank you for taking some already great rosters and making them even better/ updated... kudos!!

Re: OSFM 2010 OVERHAUL is complete!

Hey, thanks, I really did try to be as fair as possible. I never once had any second thoughts about giving some guy better stuff even if I am a fan. I know not everyone will agree but I did try to be as objective as I possibly could.

I also want to make sure you guys set injuries right as I don't think this game saves them properly. Every time I enter a new franchise it never saves my injury sliders. Even on 3 guys are getting broken arms and wrists where the probably should not.

looking forward to the upload here. Without an HDTV flatscreen TV the roster of all only shows three columns, rating, download and type. So unless it's 100% rating there is really no accurate way to search for it on the roster vault except looking for its name page after page after page. Thank you for all your hard work and I hope someone finds a site for you real soon.

Seems so.... he did an amazing job on these.

(However, you'll want to take Juan Castro off the Phillies and add Valdez to the MLB squad)
